The best buses in the world :) Thank God to the Hungarians for creating the Ikarus 280 :D Much respect. Some of them still run in some cities in Poland. Not too many though because they've almost been replaced now.

By the way, how many of them are still in service in Bratislava. There are more than a 1000 of them still in operation in Moscow.

Moscow is the recordholder of the amount of Ikarus 280 that still run.

Oh, this looks just like Sofia. We have about 50 of these buses left... they were refitted to run on methane. I don't see any black smoke so it looks like you've modified yours too...

No, we didn't. But we had some refitted buses long time ago. Google this: "Ikarus 1930" and click the first link. You can see there a catalogue of our buses and search for "1930". It was refitted. You can find there one photo.

Staré vraky, ale vodiči si ich vraj pochvalovali. Stále lepší ako tie polské shity čo sa u nás kupovali naposledy a hneď týždeň po zavedení do premávky už bolo v správach že sa jeden samovznietil... Mnohé nové autobusy a električky sú ale navrhované na hovno, strecha nízka, uličky úzke

@exotszm Nojoo, vies kazdy autobus na sebe sa ti samovznieti ked sa ti dostane olej k horucemu motoru :). V BA bola zasadna chyba ze najprv malli vymenit mechanikov az potom busy ;-). A noviny? tie sa pustia do cohokolvek co zavana senzaciou. BTW je zaujimave ze je tak strasne ticho okolo vysledku sudneho sporu zo Solarisom.

I think there is a simple set of mechanisms between the construction of the first part of the bus and the last axle which makes the axle turnable. This is characteristic for Ikarus 280. If the bus turns, the last axle automatically turns, too. For example in Ikarus 283 (longer version) the last axle is not turnable.

I don't know, because I was never driving Ikarus 280 (though I would really like to), but certainly it's easier than to drive Ikarus 293 in reverse. :)

no a co, to k tomu patří. je to prostě sranda, když jsem jako malej těmato autobusy jezdíval v bratislavě s babičkou taky brzo ráno hlídat bratrance. parádní autobusy. letos jsem si chtěl udělat výlet do blavy hlavně kvůli Ikarusům a vy už jste je zrušili :-(
