i dont even need hairspray because i'm black and my hair just stays, all i do is put a little water on it. but i actually just got my new curling iron and i didnt know how to use it to make curls but now i do so thanks alot!

im pretty sure that a 1 inch barrel because 1/2 inch are the smallest kinds of curling irons in the world

@theawesomebunny1 unfortunately with layers you have to do each layer individually or you start getting crimp marks and hair falls out and doesn't get curled

I've never been able to curl my hair with an iron and get it to stay, so normally if I want it curly I'll sleep with foam rollers in, but I'll try this and see if it works (or if i can do it on my own XD)

Another way to curl long hair is to start at the root, and then work your way down in the same way you work up...just opposite. I do that and it works totally fine .

great tip! i have exceptionally long thick hair and using a curling barrel was a nightmare for me coz my hair wouldnt heat up evenly if i rolled in one go, will try this 2moro : )

you should never start from the end it breaks the hair off you start in the middle and feed the hair in to the tips to all of the hair is properly curled. just a suggestion

for me, it usually works better if you start from the top and work your way down, instead of the other way around. it makes the curl stay in better.
