Paris is beautiful but the tower is UGLY!

They don't say now but after the fair was over that

the tower was built for, the people of Paris wanted

the damned EYESORE torn down!

But now it wouldn't be Paris without the tower, and

like Eleanor Roosevelt or Whoopi Goldberg, UGLY

can become endearing indeed!

Having lived in Paris, I find that many Parisians still do not favorably look at the Eiffel Tower. I can understand why. It's a tourist trap, a wonderful place to get your pocket picketed too. It definitely is not the best thing or near to best thing to see in Paris, but the view is amazing. And the Eiffel tower and the area around it has its own culture and city.

I visited Paris a few years ago, and it is certainly a beautiful city. There are so many things to see. Romantic? Yes! I also went to one of many parks and sat in the gras, drinking red wine, eating cheese and baguette. It was the city of my dreams, and still it is!
