  • You really need to add pants on that guy at the 2:15 point. It just isn't right...

  • Graphite is consider as Strategic Metal for US. China produced 70% of the world production. But now, the export or Graphite & Graphine is closing.

  • Good news everyone! I now have $3000 to invest! :D

  • i swear, the fact that this still isn't mass produced astonishes me

  • I'm supposing that it would be illegal for citizens to own such a material

  • @MrMeat42 Why? With a part or ore and scotch tape you can make it anywhere. Only the discovery is a bomb!

  • Two dimensional? How is that even possible? It is completely flat? I'm not very learned in this field, but doesn't every object which has mass and occupys space have three dimensions? Can anyone explain this?

  • Scotch........... tape.............?

  • scotch tape..simplicity itself.

  • @Siredef ...with a piece or ore. (Graphite)

  • I WANT A GRAPHENE SWORD RITE NAO

  • @starfox300 For what? Surely you can think of one benificial use of this object instead of making it into a weapon. What's wrong with you?

  • @FreeFromWar a sword in this day and age cannot really be considered a real weapon, the only reason why people still would have it is for style.

  • @starfox300 Why would you want to create something that has no utility? Your current understanding of "style" and desire for things that are shiny and pretty is what is wrong with this world. Corporations mass produce useless crap for people like you and charge you a fortune that your gladly willing to pay and they keep promoting useless crap like that because they're easy to produce and PEOPLE BUY IT! "Style" is irrelevant and desire to create something simply for "style" is dangerous.

  • @FreeFromWar do you think my comment was

    1. serious or

    2. a joke?

If you think I would really buy a fucking sword that is made out of graphene then you are an idiot.

  • @starfox300 While I understand it may have been an attempt of humor, but the truth is, even if you won't acknowledge it now, you do desire something that is stylish regardless of it's lack of utility and what it represents. But that's the mentality of the majority, which is sad. I apologize if I upset you with my comments, my intention was merely educate. While it maybe obvious that creating weapons is wrong, most people need to be constantly reminded that wepons are unnecessary...

  • @starfox300 People are so brainwashed by the media who collaborate with giant corporations in order to profit and they promote such useless goods and the idea of war and weapons being "cool" and something to be proud of. Which is sick beyond comprehension. How has the media polluted people into thinking that any form of weapons used to harm another human being is "cool" or "stylish"? That's just insanity..

  • @FreeFromWar you are taking the pacifism thing too serious, there will always be weapons in our world, because weapons mean control and power

  • @starfox300 As long as there is ignorance, yes, there will be weapons. That's why we need education. What is the point of power and control? Isn't it easier to live in harmony instead of forcing dominance over others? What will one do with all the power and control in the world? We are here for such a short period of time and all this wasteful effort to dominate others is so petty and primitive. Our technical reality can solve every issue if the greatest minds of our world would get along.

  • @FreeFromWar Yes the world would be a better place if there was no weapons and everyone lived in harmony. Money NOT spent on weapons research is definitely ideal. However in the real world, there are people in this world that do not share your mindset. This is an inescapable fact. What do we do when these people have all the weapons whilst we do not?

  • @croissaintwithcheese That's why we need better education. You would be surprised how the smallest things can significantly change a persons worldview. People WANT to be nice to others and not just care about money and power. It's just that we have created an artificial world that people can't see past. The more people are aware and reminded that people are more important than money and power, the better chances we have of an improved world.

  • Wouldn't this stuff make an awesome knife?

  • 2:18 Male Stripper!

  • but can we find any cool videos where they show these facts... no! I'v seen facts that stated that a piece of paper 1.000 of a millimeter could take an elephant standing on a pencil, stronger then diamonds and steel, damnit! show me!!

I know it has been used, I'v heard to much and seen to little.

  • seems extremely expensive

  • @nuclearthreat545 It's not expensive at all. It's made out of graphite. If companies can afford to put it in every pencil then surely it's cheap as dirt.

  • @nuclearthreat545 expensive? trolololol... man u could make this at home.. get a penic, put a graphite flake on tape and start spliting in half.. and soon, there will be a graphene layer :D.. ofcourse u cant see it :( .. need a microscope

  • Finally, took long enough "G"

  • Great :)

  • its only pseudo 2D... one atom thick

  • YAY Human advancement :D

  • im going to invest in this

i have this huge gut feeling...

  • @loayzc10 lol, gut feeling

  • @loayzc10 me too

  • @loayzc10 I agree, I'm investing at the source: Graphite mines, less competition then labs. or companies.

  • bad ass

  • Looks great for some things. As for coatings on kitchen utensils, I'll wait that one out, next time I by a pan to cook with. Meeting Mr Graphene in person sounds cool. I just don't fancy Mr. Graphene ending up actually "in my person".

  • nice

  • This is a great visual for Graphene. I wrote about it a few weeks ago because of its groundbreaking uses in Solar.

  • Crystals eh ? Like silicon ?

  • Shouldn't it just be 'oil, etc' not 'oil and etc'?

  • I suppose sometimes the greatest discoveries come from the simplest methods.

  • Took you awhile to arrive Mr. G!
