like maybe with that little pinprick solder you have but anything bigger is hopeless. plus it wont even melt the tiny blob on my guitars input jack. its useless unless you're soldering circuitboards
The Cold Heat I bought was hopeless. Even a cheap regular soldering iron does a better job. Have you tried it with Lead-Free solder? I'm an electronics engineer, so I'm not a novice when it comes to soldering. You must of been lucky to get one that was usable!
If you really need a portable iron, a butane one is your best bet.
