First ever playoff game I saw live in my life, I'm PRETTY sure my parents are the ones waving the flags at 1:10. What an amazing memory. Oh, there were four penalties on that play in the modern day, too!
I just watched this at a Second Cup..and fist pumped hard when Cross scored. And then looked around to see who caught me. One of the baristas gave me a strange smile.
@StraightFromToronto lol for me being only 16 no. the last good year for toronto would be 2004 i was 9 and i dont remeber it very good. altho i do remember Joe Nieuwendyk's 2 goals that ruined Patrick lalimes career
@Sabreboy48 Definitely true, but you have to keep in mind that it was not only the "old NHL", but this was the playoffs in the old NHL. In those days you practically had to murder someone to get a penalty in the playoffs. But it was the same for both teams so whatever.
@PhotoFilmStudios Yeah, they struggled throughout the regular season but people kept saying they were "built for the playoffs". Sure enough, they plowed past Ottawa in Round 1 & very nearly took out the Devils in Round 2...
i know i grew up watching berezin and he was one of my favourite leafs and he is very similar to grabovski BUT berezin was one of the leafs' best shooters and knew where to shoot, grabovski should go to the wing maybe then he could shoot more
Yeah, but not creepy. They both tuck their jerseys and are about the same size. I actually like Grabovsky because he looks like he has some stick handling skills unlike most Leafs who just skate directly at the net without any creativity. Too bad he lacks the scorer's touch.

Would you happen to have video of Cory Cross' goal in the playoffs against New Jersey where he received a pass in his skates, kicked it up to his stick as he was curling and slid the puck past Brodeur? I'm not sure which year it was, I just never believed he was so agile. That goal is imprinted in my mind, how were they able to go Cup less those years?
