  • All of you are wrong. First of all, Utahraptor stood twice as tall as a human and was about the size of an Allosaurus. The reason these Deinonychuses were called Velociraptors is because at the time of the book Deinonychus was a subspecies of Velociraptor.

  • Beautiful but terrible.

  • LA MANCOOOOO!

  • chhwwooh chhwoooh chhwoooh chwoooh

  • Deinonychus

  • @jerbearwilmes still a part of the Raptor family

  • utahraptor

  • @jerbearwilmes Ironic, as a velociraptor specimen the size of a utahraptor was actually found. So no, this is a velociraptor.

  • nice

  • i want that model in gmod now

  • ugh.... BIG MISTAKE! 6 feet log and somewhere around 3 feet tall sprry but its true

  • @sofiaandblairrock23 Actually i think he's right I think your talking about the Microrapter

Yeah and about this video IT ROCKS LOVE IT!!!

  • @sofiaandblairrock23 This is the Velociraptor in the Jurassic Park series, not a real one.

  • Dogs have cleaner tounges than people! ^_^

  • They made the Velliraptors bigger to make them scarier, but it can be explained scientifically.

  • How about giving the guy some credit. every video I see on you tube only gets a WOW or thumbs up if it's shite. This actually looks like it's been done by somebody who KNOWS what they're doing. Fuck.. Well here it is. Great video. I'm not a fan of CGI but credit where it's due dude. :D

  • Thanks 1000! But .. one more thing. Been to any of these their programs? I, like I said, for the moment I have Blender, which, as a working power is on an equal footing with 3D Studio Max, Blender, however, it's free! If someone else knows blender, I can say as you get the skin effect so realistic? Also if you use it too! If not does not matter!

  • Hello! With what program did you do the raptor! is far too realistic to be done with 3D Studio Max or May! What program do you use? is downloadable?

  • @SGCStargateCommand It's was made in the post-production of Jurassic Park III, so they probably used their own programs instead of those on the market.

  • @SGCStargateCommand Nothing can be "too realistic" for a 3D program because it all comes down to the user and their skill at using it. You can make something like this using Blender, which is open source (free) assuimng you have the skillsets to do so.

  • @EtienneLF Thanks for the information, but I already Blender! What I know and if you could get a result similar to that of the video! Thanks anyway! XD

  • where did you buy or download the animation of the velociraptor?

  • wow, awesome.. i wanna be as good

  • #FAIL

  • #FAIL

  • COOL

  • where the feathers at???

  • the only question is will it blend?

  • Hello! What program did you use to create the Velociraptor? 3D Studio? Blender? It seems very realistic, especially in the movements! Really good!

  • @Seba4400 Nope, This is in the special features for the DVD of Jurassic Park III, in the Dino Animations section. The up-loader of this vid even said he didn't make it! Read the Description people!

  • :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD RAPTOR(melts)

  • Very sexy

  • love raptors

  • Beast as hell!

  • Megaraptor should have been in the movie. That would be even more terrifying than velociraptor.

  • wow perfect animation

  • velos were basically giant turkeys, they had feathers and stood 3 to 4 ft at best....still, thats a hell of a turkey.

  • @film35m You need to stop getting you info from Wikipedia articles. There are NO fossil records of velociraptors with feather imprints. They most likely looked just like the birds in the movie only much smaller. MY information was taken from an article written by a man with a Ph. D not some thirteen year old who wants to mess up public information.

  • @limeburst1 gee, a friend with a phd, amazing what u get from a cereal box these days, wait a minute, oh look at that, I have one too.... velops are well known to be related to turkeys, from fossils, they also know they had feathers on them as well, around the head. also it's a well known fact that in the movie they knew they were making the velops more than they were in real life, so as for your reply, you failed at being knowledgeable in anything about this,

  • I have some free bad-ass animation programs but I'm too bored to make stuff like this amazing :o

  • Shiny =D

  • Dinosaurs had the original swagger. Just saying.

  • I can never get enough of this clip. Absolutely beautiful, realistic motion. So many animators over-theatricalize their characters. This comes close, but based on how large the JP raptors were, I can forgive the exagerrations here and there. It looks heavy, without being too cartoony. The JP animators are the most talented animators I've ever seen in any motion picture.

  • omg this is blasphemy!

  • The jurrassic park raptors look retarted.

  • It's little details like that which make the animations highly realistic and believable.

  • they said in the behind the scenes for Jurassic Park that they were velociraptors, the studio only made them 6ft tall because they thought that they would be more frightening, anyways they were trying to make movie monsters, not the real life animals...

  • anybody else masturbate to this .LOL

  • THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!

  • why are velociraptors replaced with deinonychus in the movie

  • the begginning info is so wrong and jurassic park they are 3-4 ft tall and 6 ft long you lil jurassic park fan boi(just saying not being mean)

  • This is the World's lost time.. Best animal ... its so Cool. but Deadly :D

  • a u s t i n a r t w a r . c o m

    finding creative types everywhere

  • PENIS!!

  • *AHEM* i think it has a bon-er

  • @Shutter2929 lol

  • the animation is great, obviously. There is one problem with the walk cycle that bothers me-- they hyper-extend their femurs, which in reality makes the joint disarticulate. the femurs really stop when they are horizontal. Not saying this sucks, obviously awesome. Its just that dromaeosaurs werent that flexible, they were really stiff. the hands are also incorrect, they fold up like a bird's hand does--and the palms face each other. Then again im not sure if they had this data then

  • beautiful walk cycle. and god damn that model is so close on to the JP raptors. If you don't mind please take a look at my raptor walk cycle i just posted and send any critiques my way. It'd be very VERY much appreciated.

  • I'm sure someone has already said this but this is from JP3, look at the extras on the dvd and you will find this.

  • yeah, i realized that about two minutes after posting but couldn't figure out how to edit my post. I is dumb.

  • if they were to make a other Jurassic park it wouldn't be the same

  • i have this on my dvd

  • Same animation i got on my PSX recovery disc xDD

  • the most beautiful walk cycle ever...

  • these guys were my fave in the first 2 jurassic park movies :D the 3rd one, in my opinion, wasnt so good. but boy, when i was a kid, these guys were my fave dinosaurs ever ^^ i clapped and cheered whenever they came on. i loved the films, they were ace. thanks to steven spielberg ;D

  • @Wretched9IN

Well, the frill of Dilophosaurus was clearly movie magic of course. But there's no way of knowing Dilophosaurus couldn't spit. It may not have had fangs like a cobra but Dilophosaurus could have had toxic saliva like the Komodo Dragon.

  • actual "Velociraptors were about 3 feet tall the ones in Jurassic park were more the size and Structure Deinychus

  • More like a Utah Raptor.

  • theyre really very similiar, not that i would have up front knowledge. :)

  • @herpybobo Utahraptor was larger. Deionychus was their size

  • @herpybobo Crazy Utahraptor

  • @herpybobo close, but a utah raptor is 23 ft long......a tad bigger lol

  • @herpybobo utah raptor is now my favourite after learning that velociraptors were tiny little buggers.

im going to have to get used to saying Utah instead of Veloci :(

  • @herpybobo Deinonychus

  • Comment removed

  • @herpybobo Utahraptor was even bigger still. Ranging from the size of a juvenile Allosaurus to an adult Allosaurus.

  • @herpybobo no, they were actually deinychus, but they said velociraptor because it was a catchy name. true story.

  • @herpybobo

The funny thing is that the first Utahraptor was found some weeks after jurassic parc came out.

  • @herpybobo Yup. Utahraptor was the dinosaur that velociraptor wasdesigned after in the movie. There was a miscommunication during the making so the name wasn't changed.

  • @WumboWarrior I don't think so. Utahraptors are 3 meters tall about. And 5-6 meters in length. The ones in Jurassic Park, was only 4 meters in length. They were deinonychus. But that's my point of view. :)

  • @herpybobo

yup. especially in the third one - they even had the plume.

  • @herpybobo Note that a Utahraptor stood up to 7 ft. tall while Deinonychus stood 5 ft. tall.

  • @herpybobo Naw, Utahraptor was over 20 ft

  • @Zabuzauz

    Utahraptor, actually.

  • @Zabuzauz 2 feet like a turkey and in jurrasic park they were 6 feet

  • @GAMESGLORIOUSGAMES like Deinonychus

  • @JParkL0v3r yh

  • @GAMESGLORIOUSGAMES what does that mean?

  • @JParkL0v3r yes

  • @GAMESGLORIOUSGAMES oh cool

  • @Zabuzauz Yep, so true.

  • @Zabuzauz they basicly are deinonychus then they thought it was just a big velociraptor

  • @Zabuzauz jepp you are right i didnt think about that befor i was locking the movie again and now i see it locks more like deinychus

  • @Zabuzauz there both the same size utahraptor is the 1

  • @Zabuzauz actually ppl got tht wrong my uncles a archeologist and he even says they were accurate in the JP films

  • @EMoboi171 They didn't put Dilophosaurus to it's original size which was about the same size of the "Velociraptors" of JP

  • @EMoboi171 sweet!

  • @Zabuzauz

I was so disappointed as a child, I went to this dinosaur exhibit museum, and I saw a raptor skeleton. It was so tiny I just didn't believe it was a velociraptor.

  • @Zabuzauz more reasonably based on utah raptors

  • @Zabuzauz on the other hand the dinosaurs of jurassic park were genetically engineered and therefore can get away with it

  • Velociraptors werent that big at all

  • @liamtheawesome1

No but when it comes to movies, they always stretch the truth. And you have to admit, they looked awesome :D

  • foi muito bom e perfeito

  • its NOT 13ft WOW there like 3-4ft! WOW!!!!!~~

  • where to download this raptor from pls tell

  • This is the raptor model from JP3. You can't download it.

  • isn't this in the bonus section the the Jurassic park 3 dvd lol?

  • Yup.

  • @BlenderPenguin I love that film.

  • it is a wonderful walk cycle none the less ;)

  • feature of jurassic park 3

  • any more of these clips around? of the other dinosaurs?

  • Ive studied velociraptors my whole life. They were 1.8 meters long(6ft), and 3-4 ft high. Their weight is debatable.

  • @4luvfishing

Well, many directors took the length of a velociraptor and made it to its high... ^^ You wouldn't be afraid of a fast 3-4 ft high chicken, or?

  • They could've just used Deinonychus instead...

  • These are beautiful animals. Now, as an expert, I can for certain say that the velociraptor was not 5 feet, or as RukayChan said 1 and a half feet in lenght, but it was 4 feet in length, and 3 and a half feet high.

  • There was a project for online dinosaur ecosystem simulation (I'm not even sure it was supposed to be a game as we use to know it), it was scratched.

Does anyone recall name of the project PLZ?

  • wow, if you ever find out what it was called , please tell me, cause that sounds so awesome

  • Jurassic park were probably thinking of utar raptor or deinchyus (incorrect spelling).

  • deinonychus and utah-raptor is the correct spelling. ; )

  • @mtlongy The author of the book made this inaccuracy. Chalked it up to genetic shift when they were remade, but it does not explain the skeleton in the beginning. It still bugs me.

  • @mtlongy Your right it is a deinonychus because at that time it was thought to be a large genus of velociraptor and thats whats used in the movie.

  • @mtlongy its bigger than a Deinonychus but smaller than a Utahraptor. And its tail is quite LONG! Must be at least 7 feet long (meaning 6 feet at best of torso, neck, and head).

  • I love the little detail when he steps down his big claw wabbles abit.

  • I laughed my head off when they said "Velociraptor - hight...5ft 6in - length...13ft"

    because reality =

    "Velociraptor - hight...1ft 6in - length...3ft"

it would be more accurate if they said Deinonychus instead of Velociraptor, cause I swear they were making things up on Jurassic Park... the real Velociraptor didnt even look like the Jurassic Park raptor!

  • looks like photoshop and Adobe Imageready to me :P

  • Idiot! Don´t you know that 3D animations are done with Microsoft Excel and the Windows calculator?

  • Wow, ur retarded, this is from the extras of Jurassic Park 3.

  • you can see that animation in jurrasic park.

  • Very nice. I want see full action :)

  • Velociraptor is not as big as this thing says it is. It is really 6 feet long.

  • no it is 8 feet long and about 4 1/2 foot tall

  • I remeber this from when i was a kid I used to watch these things all the time

  • Hm, you are right. Thanks for pointing that out. For some reason I always thought the deinonychus was smaller. My bad.

  • i think jurassic park 3 is awsome

  • I think it was nothing compared to the movies based on the books. In fact, I think JP3 was the worst Jurassic Park movie yet. Crammed to much action into a Hour and a Half. Just my opinion.

  • Excellent! Just the way I've always imagined the Velociraptor to stride! Vicious looking!

  • great! good job!

  • it is maya or 3ds max?

  • Neither, it's an old Softimage XSI.

  • It's Maya.

  • It's old XSI

  • If that's what you think, then I think that while Softimage 3D was used to model it, Maya was used to animate it and of course, RenderMan to render it.

  • is a good music.

    my like...

    BYE

    loh my channel.

  • My theory as to why they exaggerated sizes in the films is because "raptor" is a lot easier to pronounce and spell than deinonychus which is what the ratpors in the films were based on. And I suppose they figured it'd be an even bigger hit if people could spell the names of the dinosaurs featured.

  • And there I go disproving my own theory by misspelling raptor the second time. :-/

  • As far as I know deinonychus is smaller than a velociraptor. Yes, they exagerated the size of the raptors, to make them more intimidating. Hollywood does that all the time in films. Though interestingly enough the white shark in Jaws is a 25 footer. The largest that I've seen pics of was 36 feet.

  • BTW I'm a christian, so i don't belive in evolution. Well actually there a two types of evolution:

micro: Where animals show small changes, like how u see kermode bears (white non albino black bears)

then there is mega: Where an organism changes over time into something different, and if we really did come from bacteria, then is a flaw in it. The Universe would have had to been 100 billion years old to create a single celled organism.

  • the theory that god built the earth in 7 days? That's a load of bullshit. Even if it was true, what the hell has he been doing the rest of his life? Don't take this personally, of coarse.

  • I find it hard to belive that dinosaurs had feathers. If people say they're reptiles, than why FEATHERS! i mean i looked at pictures of fossils where the dinosaurs supposedly had feathers. To me it looks like the dinosaur was thrashing around till it died.

  • The skeletal structure is very similar to a bird

  • nice walk cycle, what did u use to texture it? z brush?..

  • He didn't make it.

  • I have the DVD of Jurassic Park /// and that is in the bonus features.

  • Great animation

  • mm como se aparearan???? xD

  • And he was only 3feets high and 6feets long. He was just like turkey

  • no he wasn't. It about 6ft tall the size of a full grown man.

  • hahahaha, no. Velociraptors were only about 3-4 feet tall. Jurassic Park just made them more kickass. There were some species though that were much bigger but not velociraptors. Look it up, nub.

  • true

  • Velociraptors are actually about 3 feet tall, and were covered in feathers. Speilberg exaggerated allot in these movies.

  • maybes he didnt exeggerate

maybes the information on raptors and other dinosaurs were more limited than today

  • Huh? hahaha Obviously you would have to find their bones to know that they existed at all, so people knew their actual size when the movie was made. It's film, not meant to follow the facts dude. And not all raptors had feathers. Pretty sure thats just a certain branch of the raptor species. There were different kinds, just like dogs or cats.

  • i think he based his raptors on deinoychus

  • I think it was known information back then, He just exaggerated the dinosaur to make it look more fearsome, like a furry 4 foot raptor doesn't really look scary.

  • Velociraptor had like other members of raptor family(dromaeosaurids) feathers.

  • the film of jurassic park ||| in animation

  • Prove it isn't true my friend.
