  • Love this song! I'm proud to say that the originator of this song is actually a 'Trini': calypsonian Lord Kitchener first recorded this in 1932. I'm very proud to be a Trini (from Trinidad & Tobago)- we showed England what Carnival is REALLY about!

  • @no1strawberricherri That explains it. I thought it was just his newcastle accent!

  • WHATS THAT film at 1:36 ?

  • yes, this is england on a winters afternoon, there is no sun, just a pale and tired moon.thats how i remember it,but i still miss it.

  • a pale and tired moon, I think?

  • a pale and tired moon, I think?

  • A PALE AND TIRED MOON, I THINK?

  • those lyrics have stayed with me from the day i left uk,new years eve 74,but this is england on a winters afternoon, there is no sun, just a pale untidy moon.the way i remember it, a nice way.

  • This is the quintessential "first week of January" song. Holidays are done and now it's the wait 'til spring. Alan Price has that intangible talent that makes him so special. It's difficult to put your finger on it but he's amazing.

  • Price's hair is always impeccable on stage or screen. Has anyone else noticed this or have I finally gone mad?

  • Your lyrics are wrong.

  • I'm too young to remember when this was new, but love the music. Like the art direction, might have looked even more impressive in colour!

  • DREAT SONG

  • ..great stuff...kind of uplifting.......

  • So nice to see this. 5*

  • simply great.....

  • just saw alan price set with chris farlowe and maggie bell in dundee tonight, outstanding gig!

  • Isn't it Vincent price that makes a tit of himself in that Bob Dylan film?

  • I saw him a month ago. He is 67 now and is still hot!! Handsome as ever and sings like a dream. Loved him x

  • I fully agree. I saw him in a pub in Barnes where he performed (still does?) once a month. It was one of the best concerts ever!

  • The best bit from the song is the melancholy bit about winter in England!
