How do you come up with this stuff? Simply amazing. Just add another stepper motor to push the stock through the blade and then return to zero and you won't have to do anything but click the mouse.
I need to take some computer courses at the local college so I can figure out how to make the computer controls and make similar things myself. CNC technology really interests me, but I am totally ignorant on how to design the electrical portion. Would love to learn it though.
You know what? If you replace the computer with a PICAXE and a keyboard, and add another motor to the jig, you could have it make the cut on its own by the press of a button. You could even give the microprocessor control of the power to the saw and let it do everything on its own, except for mounting and removing the piece of wood into and from the jig.
wow --thats beyond me -- but I give you alot of credit -- that computer jig is impressive --- can't imagine the kind of time a thought that went into it ---- good job

wow. that's cool. I have got one really simple looking wooden puzzle. I can fix all of them accept the firt block as from the instruction. I wonder if someone could help.
Do you use any special type of wood to avoid a loosening problem?
I glued 123 1/2 inch oak cubes to form a 5x5x5 solid looking cube. It was hard to take apart, but easy to put together.
The only problem was after a lot of use and 10 years it began to loosen and was easier to take apart. Maybe it was the white glue I used to stick the pieces together.
I find that your videos are fantastic but after watching them, a gut feeling kicked in and it finally hit me.
Why is this person not taking things to the next level. Instead of building sample vaccum engines/pumps, wooden toy tracks, tenon jigs, portable stands (reinventing the wheel). I think you could honestly invent the next gen wheel.
Take take things up a notch, join some company/group that will financially back you so you can get the best of the best materials.
Great video, as always. Sorry about people and their negative comments. Keep your eyes out for the positive ones You're seriously Grade A, man. Awesome work.
About an hour ago I saw one of your videos on my YouTube front page being promoted! I liked it so much i had to watch a bunch more. I'm glad that you are still making videos and i look forward to seeing more of your creative wooden wanderings.
I actually had several jobs as a student writing software in Quick Basic. For in-house software running on an original 4.7 MHz IBM PC, it was a really good tool.
