I'm not gloating or anything- but this was a hell of a lot easier when I rooted my Desire with Unrevoked. Click and it's done versus potential failure through the visionary app (at least it allows unrooting if you need a warranty thing). Still want a Desire HD regardless though :D

tweaks,custom roms and kernels available for desire hd can be applied to incredible s too ? ... because incredible s section looks like it has fewer custom roms , though it has same h/w as DHD ... ?

Sorry, I'm not saying that I am, but the folks at XDA, only root OPEN, S-OFF blocked, Firmware Version ( 1.32.405.6 ) ACE PVT SHIP S-ON HBOOT-0.85.0007 MICROP-0438 RADIO-26.03.02.26_M OCT 11 2010 All attempts were made radio unlock the S-ON HTC Desire Tools HD Radio, and starts sending in 80% and hangs, does not work. @RobHalford92 What are you expecting? Dancing cheerleaders on your screen? :) It should be exactly the same, but with S-OFF in your bootloader screen.

@RobHalford92 Ah, it will not remove branding, it will just unlock your phone's SIM side and the internal memory, so you get full access to flash any ROMs or whatever :) Reboot while holding volume down, and you will get to bootloader.

@RobHalford92 He used... Hmm, well that is pretty much the point of S-OFF, to be able to flash ROMs. RUU is official HTC ROM. I suggest you do some reading in XDA-Developers now.

i dont get any errors its just freezin after i click allow on superuser.. i thought maybe it needs more time but after 10 min or so it still wasnt done..

@Heddernheim069 Your HTC Sync drivers are probably broken. Try another PC if possible. The second best option is to try to reinstall HTC Sync itself. Broken HTC Sync has been reported in XDA, search would have helped you.

ok, but after root if i use something like root explorer to let rw the internal memory to install clockworkmod, that´s the same result of S-OFF or is different?.... sorry I´m new in this XD

@104625192 That is different, you cannot make permanent changes there without S-OFF. My ENG S-OFF tool works for inspire, but you should still use the inspire hack kit from XDA.

@104625192 You need S-OFF to be able to get clockworkmod. Otherwise your device's internal memory is write protected.

@104625192 Not exactly, there are a few additional steps. You should check XDA-Developers. My ENG S-OFF tool is compatible with Inspire once you have got Radio S-OFF.

I've tried this tool a good few times, problem being it just says i'm "Eng s-off" is that the same thing as SHIP s-off? i went through the terminal to get Eng s-off so i know its a different method, but i could still flash radios with eng s-off right?

@Supersize161 Check the FAQ in XDA topic, you should check that you have HTC Sync installed etc, and check that your settings->about->software information->build number is 1.32 (or older), otherwise it will not work.

@jkoljonen I just got this to work after a lot of trouble, by simply moving the folder from my desktop to c:/ I figure it must have something to do with the fact that i have a å in my username, wich the program can't process. Just wanted to let you know. ps. same solution got your eng s-off program to work aswell
