  • "250,000 men 1,000 tanks and armored vehicles" sources please???

  • Hitler was such a idiot!

  • Why they say Russians? And in Russian documentaries heck even Norwegian documentaries they say 'Soviets' all the time. Is it me or does the western media try to refuse the Soviets existance??

  • The Germans lost the war cause the Stalin didn't care how much men or materials the Soviets lost. Stalin would never capitulate to hitler. That's why the Red Army somehow survived and was able to roll into Berlin.

  • that king tiger fap fap fap

  • Tiger II was worthess, the Germans were on a retreat, it was basically a pillbox, no point in making it able to go forward. Totally pointless tank.

  • @ijl1i: And sure the Tiger and Panther would take out quite a number of T34s and Shermans but eventually they'd get overwhelmed by T34s and Shermans and be destroyed by them and every destroyed Tiger and Panther wasn't getting replaced whereas T34s and Shermans were flying out of the factories by the thousands.

Panther/Tiger = complicated, only produce a few at a time

T34s/Sherman = simple, cheap, lots of them.

  • @lukebccb Main reason for German defeat was lack of equipment. Hitler decided to produce lot's of V1 and V2 rockets instead of jet fighters to fight the allies. If he did put less interrests in the rockets and left them for later and produced enough jet airplanes. He would've have wont he war as in 1944 he would have had the double number of Panthers, double the King Tigers and finished his Maus super heavy tanks project.

  • @SMGJohn while he may have had more tanks he didn't have enough fuel to power the ones he had. lets not forget the german armored fist wasn't stopped by the allies it ran out of gas after being delayed monuver war eats alot of fuel

  • The video states the offensive was known as the "Von Rundstedt Offensive" by the Germans. That is incorrect, they called it the "Ardennes Offensive."

  • tigers are so i know they are but think they only where fighting easy tanks not big t29 american tanks maby one or 2 russian is-2 but a is-2 could kill a tiger at front

  • Oh, you note that the propaganda films show one Tiger II reviewing a mass of parked Tigers. That is because the mass of Tiger IIs didn't work.

  • @Tyco200 Nearly.....

  • Germans are the best till today !Germany must die !

  • Love all the historical footage.

  • i get a kick out of how you people support stupid comments... get over it... no? well here are some boards.. some nails and a hammer.. build a bridge and get over it.. :)

  • Germany never failed, they just got nerfey by THQ..

  • this is the thundercrafzug 182? wtf?

it is called sonder kraft fahrzeug or motorised special issue vehicle / armored fighting vehicle VI

if you cannot pronounce a word in a foreign language then dont use it

  • Hey everyone! If you love the Battle of the Bulge, then you must read the book: THE ARDENNES ON FIRE. It is, by far, the greatest book ever written on the subject. It is tremendously well researched, and the writing is absolutely dynamic. You won't be able to put it down!

  • Also, they got the whole thing about the Tiger IIs turret wrong. The "Prosche" turret was not designed by Porsche but it was called this popularly (according to wikipedia)

  • haha 0:21 look how fat Goerring is!!

  • @scg159 Goerring so fat everytime he jumps for joy, he gets stuck. hahaha! XD

  • Great Video!

  • We Russians are quite surprised by the fact that Hitler did not use the Austrian and Bavarian mountainous regions as a naturally fortified underground military-industrial base and transferring the bulk of the Germany's most vulnerable population sections there and most especially creating a new agricultural base on which to sustain all of Germany's population during WW II and waited patiently until he is sure Germany can take Allied military strikes but still repulse us. He is fatally impatient

  • @darthvader5300 Hilter never planned to be on the defense had the germans been successful in killing that mad man and replacing him with say rommel it would have cost the allies many more lives to defeat the german warmachine.

  • 6:10 That's a fast turret...

  • What about Canada?!

  • the great defensive marshal, walter model at 4:38

  • if they gave me choice to command any tank in ww2 i would choose the panzer 4h, it was an excelent tank, with the best sights of any tank, 75ml high velocity gun, 80 ml of armor which gave it high resistance against something like the m4 sherman. And the engine did not have the same technical problems like the overweight panzer and tiger models.

  • @TheSoddoma Not really. The M4 were getting arm with M1 76mm and 17 Pounder. The M1 have a better penetration than Panzer 4 KwK 40 75mm. British 17 Pounder? Only the German KwK 48 88mm out best it. The M4A3 had 76mm instead of the M4A2 50mm frontal armor. Not to mention, there were British Achilles (Hellcat), the British for some reason like to use American tank hull for their 17 Pounder, and American Hellcat with the M1 76mm.

  • An interesting point is that the Germans maintained complete radio silence. Thus the British were unable to de-code Enigma messages.

  • @grahamsmith1907 Not really. British and American code breakers had give Bradley, commander of the American defense in the Ardennes, plenty of warnings about a possible German counter-attack. Bradley, however, act with ignorance and dismiss the warnings. Bradley would regret it big time. As you could tell that Eisenhower was not happy with Bradley decision.

  • Germany knew that latest November 41, that is was lost I mean.

  • Recommended reading on this battle: "Hitler's Last Gamble" by Dupuy, Bong, and Andersen. Haven't read a better book yet on the 1944 Ardennes offensive

  • Every one on here is a freaking expert, it's just remarkable ! How many of you have studied military history for real & not just watched on line or TV movies like Kelly's Hero's ! It's not just CGI videos that make this real ! Get with it, talk to some real surviving vets of WWII... Why would they use such huge tanks with no FUEL & in such tight quarters of dense woods.! Friggin' Britts...

  • Comment removed

  • The problem for the Nazis of course was they developed too many tank types too fast, none of them reached operational maturity and all were prone to "teething problems" which had no time to get ironed out before the next model was on its way. A great exception is the Pz IV and later models of Pz V Panther. But on the other hand you had grotesque steel-and-gas guzzler monsters like the Elefant or King Tiger. Later the Maus and the L1500!

  • American tanks are just like american cars and German tanks are like german cars ?!!! hah hah haaa...

  • "Zonderkraftzug"? No, really? Its Sonderkraftfahrzeug". Duh.

  • how are the Americans the Italians of the western alliance? They came in and owned everything....

  • This looks like it was made in 1999 lol.

    Thanks.

  • King Tiger aka Tiger Royal aka Tiger ll aka Tiger B aka piece of shit.

Perfect example is Kampfgruppe Peiper more than 1/2 the Kings broke down and were never committed and the remaining got mauled by Bazooka, Shermans and US TDs before scurrying back to little Adolf.

  • @actonbath no, you are wrong, Kampfgruppe Peiper plan was to capture an oil depot from allies hands, due to the lack of oil, and then run into antwerp. but this never happened, so bassically, what the patton forces face, was a collection of remains of german infantry, no tanks, well, almost no, most of them was abandoned due to the lack of oil. Sorry for my bad english :D

  • Panther + Tiger I = KING TIGER !

  • God save the war

  • I don't really criticize videos too much for historical content. There is just so much, that it has too stay to a succinct point. Even books crack under this pressure. Hence why the often taken for granted position, that the war was over by that point. History by that point was very uncertain.

  • hm. is that Walter Model? The great defense general?

  • @mark3smle Possibly. Anyone has to be great in order to scrap together a defense of both the West and then the East. He is almost the defensive version of von Manstein.

  • @Gazer124 Model would be one to give the US army its worst military defeat. I wonder why Hitler decided to waste Rommel to bail out Italians. I think he could have done alot in Russia. But in the later stages, he would either break through or be crushed.

  • Tiger II B. That surely is an innovation. :-)

  • @Bereft008 the Tiger II, more formidable than even the original, thicker and sloped armor and a higher velocity gun

  • @mark3smle There is no Tiger II B tank. There is Tiger II OR Tiger B which is the same vehicle with a different designation. Official designations were Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. B or Sd.Kfz. 182. I made a joke about how unprofessional this video is.

  • @Bereft008 i just said Tiger II. But in all honesty, this video is unprofessional. You and I coudl find many flaws in what they say.

  • i love tanks so much....

  • Watching this and Schindler's List at same time. Multitasking #FTW

  • i belaieve the thikest armour of a tank is like 15 in to 20 in but never tree feet also imagine how heavy the tank would be if it had 3 foot armour think a quarter inch of a 12 by 12 inch plate ywould weigh up to 60 to 80 lbs or roughly 140 kilos

  • ilverbroke what fool idea was that to send 200000 soldiers instead of keeping them to defend berlin... hitler was abad comander.. underestimate allies.. see how americans reacted.. with humor.. they knew they cant loos e from this army.. no airforce no artiliiery only rifles.. for 2 weeks germans stepped 5 kilometers.. after the sky was better it was all over.. this is the fact.. german soldier was prooved low level ability.. .. nuts!!!

  • 8:00 impressive footage

  • the germans where masters of propaganda for a reason

  • @thezuke 200mm is almost eight inches, which would make the main gun of your little M3 larger than the secondary armament of an Iowa-class battleship. And no tank in the history of the world has ever come close to having 1 meter thick (that's 3.28 ft) armor. And a captured German jet engine from a ME262? Come on, not even the dimmest of bulbs would ever believe that.

  • They'd of been better off producing MK IV's, without air superiority didn't much matter anyway.

  • 7:47 Kurt Knispel, the most succesful tank commander in history

  • @Makreel44 well, I disagree. Michael Wittmann is said to be the most successful tank commander with 187 victories.

  • In terms of enemy tanks destroyed Knispel is the most succesful according to the statistics, but he was not SS and did not receive as much medals as Wittmann

  • @Makreel44 - Keep in mind, "tanks destroyed", doesn't just mean a metallic object, but the *people, human beings* inside them that had their lives cut short. War is a horrible thing.

  • @Makreel44 - With the biggest tank vs smallest tanks in history. Whoop-de-doo. A heavyweight boxer beats up 10 year old children, so what?

  • and slow turret traverse. wittmann used his tracks to turn gun as it was quicker hence hunting versions of tanks without turrets were less of a disadvantage than thought.

  • man king tiger are the beast but very slow..... T_T

  • @12ock in a mostgly defensive war, lack of speed is not that much of a disadvantage. but it was very demanding on maintenance and since most new German tanks were rushed into the war, which meant the designs still had flaws that weren't ironed out at that time

  • @12ock - Also the Tiger tanks were well known for having engine, transmission, steering gear and dangerous fuel leak problems. The King Tiger especially so.

  • The US Pershing tank combat debut took out a tiger and panther. By that time, the war was almost over though

  • And alsow the King tigers armor was so thick and wellplaced that it was almost impossible to breach with the anti-tank tecnologie at that time.

  • it wasn't almost impossible it really was Impossible not one round pierced the frontal armour of that tank

  • @RazorCell7 - Not so. I've seen pictures of Tiger tanks with the front armor having been punctured.

  • a king tiger tank? it's never ever been recorded that a shell was able to go through a king tiger tank and there is no record that it actually happened in combat

and King Tigers and Tigers in general engine problem is over exaggerated WAYY too much

yes it did have problems but for months it would go straight just fine and King Tigers saw a HUGE amount of combat in Operation Market Garden and from then on.. . the war is not exactly at it's end

  • hahaha dont be funny man :D you're 90? hahaah comm on man.. everybody knows you're lieing. ;D chill out.

  • @thezuke AMEN bro, I blew a KING TIGER away once with my M-1 Garand. I had a Incendiary round in it, I got a lucky shot in the fuel line (A one in a million shot) and the entire tank exploded. I am 96 now and was awarded "The Congressional Medal of honor>"

  • @prettyvacant2007 Oh yeah and another thing th King Tiger Tank uses Diesel and No Petrol.

If a bullet hits petrol it will burn

if a bullet hits diesel nothing happens

  • @234jari234 tanks back then especialy tiger like todays abrams could run on anything so he could have hit a fule line and caused an explosion. also is the an age limmit on the word bro maybe he was making fun of yung people i just saying

  • @234jari234 just a little note: as you probably know, the russians used diesels on their T34s since 1940.

  • @silver610310 Yes i know, but has that anything to do with The Battle Of The Bulge?

    I don't think so mate.

  • @234jari234 nothing much, just saying that using diesel on tanks wasn't an original idea by the genius nazis, like the design of the Panther, they copied it from the russians. but it was too late.

  • @silver610310 Yes they did, but i was even faster and had a more powerful gun on it then the T34.

And ofcourse just like the Stg44, ME-262 and U-995 the Panther t was made to late and made in small numbers.

If they did came on time, how long would the war have lasted?

  • @234jari234 "If they did..." of course they would have won. We could also add "not killing Jewish Physicists" who made the Bob to the list of German "war chest". But the history and wars don't work like that. If Germany blah-blah, then the Russkies would have 10,000 IS-3s; 1 mln AK47s; IL2s,Americans had Flying Fortresses and the Brits had Challengers instead of inadequate Valentines. The "If we have...blah-blah, then we win" ideas are dangerous, because they cause arms races and wars.

  • @silver610310 and due the armes race we got the cold war

  • @234jari234 YY-e-ep! Then we "won" the cold war, but somehow zynk boxes are still coming from Afghanistan, Iraq, etc, where we are fighting the same guys we armed and trained. russians are laughing their heads off. . Paying fkn Mubarak, a soviet-trained air force pilot, for 30 years.Throwing away hundreds of $billions every year, while the situation at home.... well, you know the restAll stupid sht.

  • @234jari234 but these weapons were answeres to questions which appeared during the war and not before

  • @satanic666sonic My question was if they were invented earlier in the war how long would the war have lasted then?

Not about the fact that it were anwsers on the questions wich appeared during the war

  • @234jari234 yeah but the question is somehow unnecessary since the developement in tank design was based on the experiences which were made during the war-step after step

  • @satanic666sonic Im not only talking about tank design

  • @234jari234 same goes for tactics

  • @satanic666sonic I wasn´t talking about that either and i dind´t even mentioned that

  • @234jari234 i guess then you dont what you are talking about since the word "design" covers all the hardware and the word "tactics" all the operational stuff.

then i donjt see the point in your comment, do you just comment to have said something??

  • @satanic666sonic I don't see your point either because it is almost impossible to read this comment due the lack of English grammer.

  • @234jari234 what a coward excuse. i had my american friend sitting next to me, always confirming that my comments could be understood. so why dont you learn a second or third language yourself instead of ranting about people who actually did, and have the generosity to comunicate with you in YOUR language?? now stay on topic, and if you really cant understand anything then please point out my specific mistakes so i can correct them.

  • @satanic666sonic

I allready learn four damned languages!

    Dutch, English, German and Spanish

  • @234jari234 would you then please reply in german?? spanish is also ok......go on.....

  • @satanic666sonic

"Would you then please reply in german??"

Wollst du denn bitte im Deutsch reagieren?

    "Spannish is also ok...go on..."

El español también se puede ... continuar ...

Dit is best wel kansloos weet je dat?

En doe niet zo kanker bijdehand want ik klap je zeker wel

  • @234jari234 your german and spanish is a joke pal. google translator doesnt mean you learned a language. and since those two sentences are pretty basic, i highly doubt you ever learned them.

"Würdest du dann bitte auf Deutsch antworten?" would be the german sentence "Se puede hablar el espanol tambien.....continuar...." the spanish one. now that you made a fool outta yourself, you can admit that ranting about someones language skills is unnecessary as long as you understand the core.

  • @satanic666sonic My german is ok but when you learn 4 languages it is kinda hard to remember all the german Fall's like the 1st Fall, 2nd Fall, 3e Fall, and the 4th Fall.

And i Dutch my entire like and English for about 5 years and German and Spanish for over 1.5 years.

Why dont you try and learn 4 diffrent languages

  • Comment removed

  • @234jari234 now there are even mistakes in your english....hahaha

listen, pal. i wasnt the one showing a snobby attitude and correctin other people and even insulting them. go and jerk on a dictionary with your scholarstudent-friends if you want. but i think its rather arrogant to not accept the mistakes of non-native speakers when they simply try to comunicate with others.

por cierto, ya hablo cuatro lenguas. aleman y ingles. ademas un poco francesa pero no tengo un razon para estar chulo

  • @satanic666sonic

would you please take your inane arguement somewhere else?

you are argueing on line with someone you don't even know,he don't care,i don't care, and i doubt anyone else cares neither....just needed to make the point and i won't get into any inane spat with you.

dang talk about history which this is about and not cluttering it up with your penny anny arguments about a totally inane unrelated subject.

  • @prettyvacant2007 m1 garands didnt have incindiary rounds except for maybe in one of the call of duty games and even if they did it would blow up a fucking king tiger with 1 shot and im sure the fuel line is far more protected than just hanging out the side for someone to get a lucky shot in

  • @BobaFett379251-An incendiary round (spelled correctly) is just a phosphorus tracer rounds & they had plenty that were shot through the 30 cal. Browning & or Vickers machine guns, which would fit in the M1 Garand no problem ! Taken from unlinked belt ammo & stuffed into a M1 Clip... 30-06 Armor pricing & it could happen. They tried many things that are not talked about & it's not just goofy video games. Weather or not it would penetrate the right spot ? I worked with all branches of US Military.

  • from what i understand thats from allied tank crews shooting them up real close after they were abandoned

  • @nekwa2 - Which wasn't much of a concern at all, since it has been documented in the book, "Tigers in Combat", that most King Tiger tanks never even saw battle as they were so incredibly mechanically unreliable and broke down so much.

  • cool like ww2

  • "Von Rundstedt Offensive" was a term which was used by the Allies, not the Germans, and it chagrined von Rundstedt himself no end.

  • 5/5 again GD good series

  • any idea what the song is called at 7.46-8.10. i've heard it before buts was unable to find out what it was called.

  • hi x00001,

    the song called "Die Wacht am Rhein";

this is a german song from the beginning of the word war I

    ladebongo

  • "The Wacht am Rhein" (The guard on the river rhine) is much older, being written in the middle of the 19. century, as an answer to french demands who wanted to annex German territories left of the rhine.

  • "the Italians of the western alliance" - ouch :)

    Five stars as always.

  • That's Hitler's quote not mine. LOL

  • Yeah. It was also used by British PWs captured by the Germans in North Africa. It may have been alright to say that in the early stages of Operation Torch but it was hardly justifiable in Europe itself.

  • @Th3C0br4 LOL

  • mave.foorumi.eu

  • @Th3C0br4

Italians joined the allies at the end of the war

  • @Th3C0br4

Italians joined the allies at the end of the war

  • @Snowlius No, the Italians joined the Allied side in 1943, not at the end of the war.

  • First view!! YEY
