  • I too know places such as this in Pennsylvania. I cringe inwardly, every time I round-the-bend-in-the-stream, expecting to see another fisherman though historically (my span of years in the woods is about 41) this has happened only once.

Most of the time I'm solitary in my enjoyment of these natural wonders, the towering rock faces, inside of God's cathedral, alone with my thoughts.

  • Are you on the back side of the trail? I've only hiked up to the back road once. I come in from the Delaware side and there's only cornfields there!

  • I bought my house because it is the closest home to this waterfall trail. I live directly accross the street! I love it, it's like paradise in my front yard.

  • Yep, on the backside. There is a great little waterfall/swiming hole at my end.

  • WHERE IS THIS PLACE?!?!?!?!

  • Surprise. Lots of awesome scenery in PA.

    Cool pictures. Peace.

  • i live in dingmans and i love it.

honestly its very beautiful out here :)

    love this video

  • Thank you! I've been going to that spot all my life. I love it too.

  • i never knew anyone appreciated Dingmans ha I live there and very few people like it

  • heh. I can't say that I'd like to live there.... dunno. I sure do like that falls trail!

  • We are going to Dingsman ferry this fall.

Anyway you can tell me how to find this place?

I asked the lady at our rental and she

said she is not sure where it is because she doesn't know of any place that you can swim and go in the falls. Thanks again! :-)

  • Have a great time! I can't really tell you where they are. It's a private, unmarked, dirt road between Dingmans Ferry Bridge and Pocono Environmental Education Center. Good luck! Follow the stream.

  • Its private?

Can we get in any trouble

    for going?

    Oh yea forgot to tell

you I love the song you picked!

  • Sorry to bug you again

but where did you stay when you

    visited?

  • my house ;) I'm only about 2 hours away.

  • Oh :-)

I am about 3 hours away.

  • Just beautiful!

Is this near the babbling brook

    cottages? I am thinking of

renting a cabin for the weekend this fall.

  • Oh, based on their website it seems like it's around the back (upstream) of these falls. It's a lovely area.

  • Thanks!

  • we share some the same friends and or subs

  • It's really a small cyber world. And I think certain folks tend to gravitate together.

  • dang I was trying to reply to your comment and clicked remove.

  • man the va ones are the best i live here in fl it sucks va swmming holes are my fav my first time goin to this part of va shendoaah valley swmming hole its nice they say

  • I grew up in Dingman's Ferry. I always loved going into the woods and exploring with friends. I definitely grew up in the lower middle class, but those were the best times of my life. I've been wanting to go back and visit for so long, but I know that it's most likely not how it was when I left. There are probably houses and stores where the woods used to be. :( Still, I'd like to go back. It's been over six years.

  • You know what they say, you can't go home again, but it's still very quaint there. My uncle had a hunting cabin up there before they took it over for the Tox Island (sp?) dam... It was a shame to loose the property but at least they didn't flood that beautiful area and now it's possible to visit and hike and show my kids what a great place it was to explore. Go visit if you have the time and ability.

  • i have to say the states known for being junky are actually some of the most beautiful states you can go to

  • Best kept secrets sometimes, no? Thanks for stopping by!

  • Such gorgeous photos of gorgeous land set to magical sounds :)

You're fortunate, Gert. I always thought PA and Jersey were beautiful and spent many a good time driving through to the east coast...but here I was treated to what's in the depths of those mountains....thank you, tiz glorious and you did it such fine justice :)

The photo of kiddy at 3:34 struck me! :)

  • Thank you, Liz. I assure you my boys had a marvelous time that day. It's important to get out and about into the little nooks of the place you live, no? ;) The fossil hunting was great that day, too. Thank you for taking the time to watch.

  • Haha, secret? That's not secret at all! That's Dingmans Ferry's "Dingmans Falls." It's like a mile away from my house. Everyone goes cliffjumping there. They're not very big, but the cliffs that are big I'd never recommend jumping off of. It's a fun place to go though. It's pretty as well.

  • ;) isn't it great? Before it was taken over by the state my uncle had a cabin there with his hunting group. I'm glad you get to enjoy it too!
