I didn't say Light isn't a developed character (although he certainly is less than L). I just don't see why he's likeable. He's, the typical person that's perfect in every way (smart, handsome, good at sports, etc.) on the outside, and is a rotten selfish homicide in the inside. He's a well constructed antagonist, but certainly not a likeable character.L is weird in his own way, he's intelligent yet somewhat childish. But not selfish.

Honorable intentions...but he went about it all wrong, and then he got delusional about being God and that made things much much worse...in the end he started killing innocent people to protect himself. As for really making the world better...Matt's death showed exactly what kind of world Kira really created; a world where people could kill whomever they wanted in the name of Kira.

Is this a scene from the movie or is it a deleted scene? I don't really like how L wiped his hands after shaking Light's. It's not like L at all, and if it is a deleted scene I'm glad of it because his first appearance might make people think badly of him as a character. 1) Light is a hero. He sacrificed his very soul to rid the world of evil criminals. I would have done the exact same thing if given that power. But I would do it a bit smarter, I wouldn't have fell of the obivous fake L on TV which started the whole thing. I have seen it too many times where criminals are not punished for their misdeeds. Kira punished them with the only punishment needed, DEATH.
i don't blame light for falling for that trick, he didn't know anything about L and, oh right he's INSANE. You can't make a broad statement like "All who oppose me are evil" what about all the innocent policeman just doing their jobs, were they evil? and Light didn't want to make the world a better place, he was calling himself a god at the VERY FIRST EPISODE, his motives were nothing but pure evil. Ridding the world of criminals just gives the population an excuse to worship him
Light is the hero and yes the innocent police should have realized he was killing nothing but criminals, thus doing their job which they fail at, they opposed him and had to suffer the consequence.
Why not rule the world as a god? We already worship a made up god and have to follow his stupid commandments.

Case in point Karla Holmoka serves 12 years for killing 3 girls including her sister, she got a light sentence because she lied about her involvement with the killings and testified against former husband Paul Bernardo. Where is justice there?

Honorable intentions...but he went about it all wrong, and then he got delusional about being God and that made things much much worse...in the end he started killing innocent people to protect himself. As for really making the world better...Matt's death showed exactly what kind of world Kira really created; a world where people could kill whomever they wanted in the name of Kira.

I own the entire series on DVD, I own both Relight specials and I own all 3 live action movies.
All I need now is the book with talks about the BB murder cases and then the actual Magna.
Kira is still better than L and Kira did do the right thing. It's still fucking bullshit how he lost thanks to a mother fucking cheater called Near. If Kira was to be beat, it SHOULD HAVE ONLY BE L HIMSELF. Which is why I hate the last set of episodes after L.

1) Light is a hero. He sacrificed his very soul to rid the world of evil criminals. I would have done the exact same thing if given that power. But I would do it a bit smarter, I wouldn't have fell of the obivous fake L on TV which started the whole thing. I have seen it too many times where criminals are not punished for their misdeeds. Kira punished them with the only punishment needed, DEATH.

i don't blame light for falling for that trick, he didn't know anything about L and, oh right he's INSANE. Case in point Karla Holmoka serves 12 years for killing 3 girls including her sister, she got a light sentence because she lied about her involvement with the killings and testified against former husband Paul Bernardo. Where is justice there?
