I know a lot about MacDonald, one of my favorite comedians. He's a genius and hilarious but he really is a horribly depressed soul. The female host is spot on. Listed to some of his other interviews (Stern or Carolla).

Norm is roasting these hosts. He says he doesn't drink but watch his interviews on Stern, Letterman and Conan. He admits to loving drinking, even on the Tom Green Show he is drinking during the interview.
Norm is a genuinely interesting, intelligent person. These interviewers would have a better show if they had let him talk about what he thinks is important rather than questioning his outlook on life. The fact that they can't believe what he is saying just reveals their own limitations.
