Josie and the Pussycats. Literally. The band was formed in the spring of 1970 and was a real life incarnation of the group from the comic books and the cartoon. The group consisted of Cathy Dougher, Patrice Holloway, younger sister of Motown singer Brenda Holloway and Cherie Moore, known to us today as Cheryl Ladd of Charlie's Angels.
Another little bit of info--by the time Josie and The Pussycats in Outer Space was about to premiere on TV, the real-life muscial group disbanded, so Hanna-Barbera hired anonymous session singers to perform all the new songs for the show.
This was the only song I ever loved from Josie and the Pussycats. Thank you so very much for upbringing this part of the cartoon on You Tube. Very awesome!
Well, Alan looks a LOT like Fred, and Alexander sounds like Shaggy, and the show has the same background music and sound effects as Scooby-Doo did, but Alexandra and Sebastian actually kinda remind me of Dastardly and Muttley
I think Scooby came first, then HB followed up with Josie, among other similar cartoons. And sure, pretty mindless silly stuff, much like Scooby. But no annoying moral or message to get in the way (at least not that I remember). "Here ya go, kids; a whacky nonsensical cartoon, a rock band, and no preaching. Enjoy!"
@Uptown1616 In this episode, they were jumping from bed to bed in their short dress PJ's when the tiger was chasing them. Awfully risque for a Saturday Morning cartoon.
There is a reason Alexander sounds like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Casey Kasem did the voices for both characters. Yep, that Casey Kasem. Remember American Top-40?
I gotta agree, Alan looks a lot like Fred, and Alexander sounds like Shaggy. They also used the same background music and sound effects from "Scooby-Doo." But as a kid I never thought of this as a Scooby-Doo clone (which it basically isn't)
That's the annoying thing about this show. They always run the sound effects (and in the case of this song, the dialog) during the song. I love this song, though!
Well, who played the music and wrote the songs?

In "Scooby Doo!Where are you?",there are no sound effects with the chase songs.
