Optiganally Yours was opening for Three Mile Pilot this July in Belly Up Tavern. I didn't dare to hope they'd play this... but they did! It was awesome! (I'm almost ready to forgive Rob Crow for prying Zach from 3MP to form Pinback...)
@digoxin Haha I'm pretty sure that Zach quit Three Mile Pilot because he didn't like how the band was changing when they were signed to Geffen Records. Plus Pinback is amazing anyways.
Wow, my Motorola W180 and Sony Ericsson J120i have less Lo-Fi ringtones! I like this clip. I also like the optigan website. Is this song dedicated to Brian Wilson?
I have been away from SD for 7 years now -living in Copenhagen... but have long been a big fan of OY. 2 cassettes well worn out. Searched for OY on YouTube on a whim and found this. Holy Shit. I can't believe it. I LOVE IT. I never knew this video existed. Too fucking cool.
Pinback is basically Rob Crow's only project with out a trace of humor. I mean c'mon in the eary 90's he had Heavy Vegetable, just listen to the band name alone. And now he's in Goblin Cock... speaks for itself. I love Rob Crow. And I think it's great that he can make a beautiful serious melodic song, or throw on a dress and sing a fun pop song, or even don a black robe and strum sludgy stoner-metal chords.
This is many shades of awesome

I finally saw some old video of Sparks and when I saw Ron Mael I thought of this video.
It is a shame the Chaplin mustache is pretty much dead.
I quite enjoy OY.

I play the 2 cd's from OY all the time. Something about the cheesey optigone sound that I love. I wish that Rob would do more of this type of stuff.
