I would love to see the Philharmonic play Schoenberg's orchestration of the St. Anne Prelude and Fugue, as well as Webern's orchestration of the 6-voice ricercar from the Musical Offering. That would be heaven!
Romanticized Bach? What the hell is this?????? Bach is pristine and pure. This is a polluted interpretation of the original - Made to "mimic" the Romantic Composers of later years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (August 30), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. We sang this as our opening hymn; Creator Spirit, Heavenly Dove, written by Rhabanus Maurus in the 1st Century, no less. It is #578 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Just thought I'd share.
wonderful!!

Un sacrilegio: una emerita porcheria. Una assurda strombazzata di suoni impastati e pessima orchestrazione!

What Schoenberg did to Bach here is similar to what Bach did to Vivaldi.

Nasty dissenter that I am - and pipe organist - I think Bach is better left how he is, and Schoenberg is better left painting pictures.

@SordidGuy Bach is Bach. If you think his music is polluted by something so superficial as orchestration, well...

superb perfomance, i dare say a little too rythmic... With a piece like this surely the line needs to flow a little more?
