  • I always liked the original by the Lettermen and don't forget Steve Lawrence, too.

    A great Barry Mann tune....

    Love it!

  • @sparkescadman Yes sir! Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • That's my mom!

  • If there is a "revival" 45 out there with this song and "Again" on both sides, I want it! These girls were FANTASTIC!

  • Very sweet and haunting ... really unforgettable. The chord change sends it into the stratosphere. Any of these young ladies still around ?

  • @JimmyBoi2 Jimmy, I very much appreciate your comment.... haven't been able to find more than basic information on the girls : ((

  • I used to listen to this song on Saturday mornings when I was a kid (40 years ago), and I wondered if anyone else knew that it even existed. My 45 was misplaced, but I am so happy that someone thought to put it on youtube. Thank you for adding it and allowing me to enjoy a wonderful memory.

  • You're welcome. and what a great memory to have!

  • I like this group and there sound, I would like to hear there song titled "Starbright". I wonder why Capital didn't promote them heavier.

I'm also supprised no mention that not only did the Letterman sing "Come Back Silly Girl" but so did Steve Lawrence on United Artist Records

  • This is wonderful. It's better than the original. A painful lesson for all men.

  • This is just great. So crystal-clear and pure sounding. Did this song get air time back then?

  • I used to listen to the latest releases most days in 1962 when this was released,, but never heard this once until last year when a Spanish channel sent it to me!!!

  • I was just thinking there was a gal version. This is great. Love those girl groups. Thank you, Letterman1.

  • CoQuettes

  • Yeah, for some unknown reason they alternated between the two names!

  • I've got the 45... Came out on Capitol Records, the same label as the Lettermen's "Come Back Silly Girl" which was written by Barry Mann.

  • brilliant song...is the CD of complete records available ??

  • Phil, my Dad tells me "answer" songs were quite popular in the 50's and 60's...However this is the first time I heard this one...really cool

  • Yes, they were and included some quite high profile performers! No-one (including me!) seems to have heard this one!

  • hey phil thank's to you too , for posting the song. This one and the original by lettermen are two of my favourites and now i can listen them everywhere i go.

  • yw bobby , i'm glad everybody can enjoy this song.

    65R:)

  • You're welcome 65! There's a lot of good work going on all over Europe whn it comes to doo-wop and close harmony. A lot of them, like Eddie, are afficionados of the genre! They can sing up a storm also!

  • Awesome!

  • How did it get under our radar in 1963???
