I wish games today had awesome music like this, seriously, all they would have to do is program the music with old programs such as for the Sid chip and mega drive chip, convert it into a modern music format, and put it in the game, i know easier said then done, but it would sure make the experience a hell of allot better, nice mix by the way!!! :D
@blog1977 - I know!! Well yellowed, and well used. Since then though, I have spray painted the case black and swapped the keyboard with an old Vic 20 black one to make a completely black C64. I have bought 2 other C64Cs which have not yellowed, and look almost brand new!
As for the joystick... 20 years old, and still working fine! :)
Dangit you're awesome for making this! Someday I'm gonna remix it too 8D but without the extra stuff, it will be directly based off the Jurassic Park from my Dinosaur-loving childhood!!!
You will have to teach me sometime mate how to do some of this great video editing :) I am going to start making some Music Mods again on my A1200 so i can then overlay my own music over the top of my own video (although i already have a few of my own, but not at your level) because what you have done here is absolutely brilliant :)
I should "also" make a C64 one, i have only focused on the Amiga thus far, and i love how you showed Driller in your video because no-one ever does :)
Hey dude do you have this as an MP3? Youtube are going all hysterical over removing videos (even if it's the user's copyright) and I would be so upset if this got removed.
Wow this is the best remix I have found (aside from Press Play on Tape) it simply rocks! Love the ending too, your lad is so cute! Can't stop dancing! Have you done any more remixes perchance?
You know I don't even know if I played Comic Bakery but I remember the tune... I still play me C64 so I'll have a look in me hundreds of games to see if we have it.
Actually if you play Jurrasic Park on the NES and Gameboy, the first level has the Comic Bakery tune in! The creator of that version loved the tune and ask Galway to have the tune in the game.
Glad you liked the Bob ending!!! It's my sons favourite program, and on many occasions he has wanted me to turn off my C64 so that he can watch it, hence why I added it to the end of the video!!!
Thankyou for your kind comments - I don't know why I never bothered putting this remix on remix.kwed - I guess it's because I didn't think it was of the high standard that some of the remixes are on that amazing site.
Anyway, you have convinced me to upload it onto the Remix.Kwed site, and I will do it tomorrow!
Great, great, great! Fantastic video, i remember original music and a lot of games, i have commodore at home, but i have only few games, but i still remember game and music, Firelord, Last Ninja, BlueMax, Monty...they are legendary!
Great video, I wasn't aware that the C64 was that good at 3D games (sure it was choppy, but those where coloured polygons, I had expected wireframe stuff at best).
Captures the essence of the SID chip perfectly, raw, analogue, and powerful as ....
Fantastic remix. Great vid, too.
Also worth a listen is Jochen Hippel's Comic Bakery (retitled Angels.hp) - a (digital) chip tune, taking pride and place on a few cracktros (Superfrog, et al) on the Amiga. Great stuff.
Part of it sounds like I came right from platypus

I prefer Instant Remedy's version of this, but this tune isn't half bad either. Good work!
saivert 3 years ago
Thanks for your comment!! I have to agree - nothing tops Instant Remedy's version, although I do like Press Play On Tape's version as well.
stujwilson 3 years ago
I dunno, can't decide if this or remedy is my favorite version. ppot is good too, but is more funny than anything.
This song is like the c64 anthem, the game itself sucks, but this choon is king.

Hello...
Thankyou for your kind comments. I have done a few other remixes - you can find them all on YouTube.
I had never played Comic Bakery, but the song is so iconic, and clearly associated with the C64.
I will always remember it as being the theme tune to the Top Gun game though!!!!
stujwilson 3 years ago
Actually if you play Jurrasic Park on the NES and Gameboy, the first level has the Comic Bakery tune in! The creator of that version loved the tune and ask Galway to have the tune in the game.

I didn't know that!! More proof that the C64 had the best music written for it.
