Capoeira is more dance then fighting. I would learn Capoeira for everything I'd need in a fight/street fight that isn't striking. Movement, balance, endurance and flexibility, all very important for avoiding your opponents attacks and landing your own. For actual striking with fists I'd probably take up another martial art like Krav Maga and blend the two.

I've never seen kung-fu, karate, wushu, taekwondo, boxing, savate, ju jitsu, muay thai, mma, or capoeira win in I fight, really.....but you know what I have seen win a fight? I good fighter. You see, it doesn't matter what style you do, it just matters what you learn from it: how to move, how to take a hit or a fall, how to move with/ around an opponent, and how to keep an opponent away, or keep him down. All arts teach that.

actually, capoeira was created to look like a dance, so you must take off many dance-like moves, so it get a real fight, you may know how to dance, but making it a fight maybe difficult 'cuz you will have to try out many moves again and again to make it right,

capoeira in fight makes unstoppable series os kicks and flips, so your enemy gets lost in your movements, i do this when i fight, and im known by it.

the art of Capoeira has been nothing but flashy movements now. befor it was hard core competitions but people take it for granted now and only want to learn it for the acrobatics and not for the true art of Capoeira. hence why Breakers that try Capoeira can care less about the fighting side. i personally did capoera for 2 years and i enjoy the true essence of Capoeira and its Historical Background. Fun and Great Martial Art.

Breakdancing derived from the dance-art of Capoeira (Or one of it's relative arts) and does include many moves from its predesessor, however breakdancing is not a marshal art, it is a dance style and has little to do with any sort of combat, Capoeira seems to have quite a bit to do with combat as well as friendly dance. But Kermit, You can't fight someone with a breakdance... Dancing capoeira and combat capoeira are very different circumstances.
