I learned to juggle with tennis balls. Well used tennis balls don't have a lot of grip and are very light, so after I learned the 3-ball cascade and graduated to bean bag balls, juggling was 10x easier. My described method is more suited for individuals who plan to continue juggling and learn tricks or juggle clubs in my opinion b/c it forms a very solid foundation for more advanced tricks.
I made the same kind of thing, but I used sand rather than rice, more weight!
And, to keep them from bursting I covered them with Duct Tape, which, just to warn you, will make the balls as hard as a rock. But mine weigh about 10oz each and I can make them any color with new colored duct tape.
I actually just did this with 3 balls but covered them about 5-7 times with balloons it made them more firm and better grip they are amazing I can't wait to show my friends them.
ps: if i could post a picture of them i took i would.
wow, we stumbled upon nearly the same thing. In fact between us you can cover all your bases. You make bean bags essentially. I use different core materials from steel pellets to golf balls and manage to create versions that work for contact juggling. The one in my video works for it. Keep up the good work. I am always inventing manipulation props. Check out my channel. Thanks for posting
These balls aren't intended to compete with professional balls in any way at all. They're mainly for people who want to start juggling something right away.
Genius. Although I should have looked for this sort of thing when I was still a beginner. The ones I have now are pretty damaged from trying to learn things.
These should be very useful even now though! The worst is when you drop one and it rolls undesirably far and you spend hours looking for it...
OH MY GOD! it took me ages to make then(well sort of :P) but my my its worth it in sted of bying lots of balls to find your perfect ones use this i did it diferantly cuz i had no tube but these are grate cuz i make them to fit your style!
its impossible to do the first step, cuz after I BLEW UP! my balloon! I am missing a balloon!

Have you ever thought of filling them with water? obviosly youd have to like put a bag round or something, but itd be quite cool.

It would be really difficult to stretch the second balloon over one filled with water but I suppose it could be done.

hey
I think, professional made balls are much better, but those aren't bad for some easy tricks
imagine one balloon tears while you're juggling

yes of course ;-)
I'm going to make som eballs like this, too, because you can make 5 balls which are the same, and you don't have to buy 5 balls.

Exactly, I can't tell you how frustrated I get after I drop a ball and it ends up lost for a while. I haven't lost one of these balls yet.
JugglerJTW 2 years ago
I still think russians are better quality if you don't want them to roll off when you drop but maintain the shape of a ball in the air.
