Todavia es lindo y no ha dejado de ser una delas bellezas chapinas.Si bien es cierto no es lo mismo que en los 80's y 90's.Lamentable mente en todo el mundo nuetros recursos naturales han sido y siguen siendo afectados tanto como por desastres naturales como por la ambicion descontralada de nuestras autoridades que solo se enfocan en cuanta fortuna van hacer y no en las necesidades tanto de nuestra gente como de nuestros recursos naturales.

Poor Atitlan , what a turn from being probably the most beautiful lake in world to shittiest/dangerous .. of course locals , and authorities will try to do something when tourists stop coming ..hopefully it won't be too late

Please help with this lake, we need this lake it is really a wonderful lake very special with special energy. Who ever know something about reversing the cianobacteria il would be of great help to share info so we can start fixing it up.

This slideshow is a well done presentation of what is happening at Lake Atitlan.  I would like to be more optimistic about the future of the lake. If anyone can do anything to mobilize the forces necessary to reverse the decay of the lake please do whatever you can. If enough people and resources are employed, there may be a chance to reverse this process. If you could get people like Bill Gates and Oprah to focus on fixing the problem, the lake might heal; $ and oversight are needed. Help!
