  • However I dont recall the bosses being so lame in my game. How comes they dieing so fast? The bosses used to be challenging if i remember correctly.

  • Oh dam just realised theres no way this could be master system version. Man how times have changed the MS version of this game looks terrible , but i loved it at tthe time. I guess this is playing on his PC through MAME

  • Memories. Is this the Masters stystem version. I used to play that version as a kid. I just cant recall if i ever did complete it with one life. I did remember it being very hard and taking me ages to complete though. My mate finished it first (it was his game i used to borrow lol), and i was like all "WOW".

  • Rastan and Black Tiger were two of the best platformers along with Gryzor. :) Aww man so many mispent hours and ten pence pieces.

  • i got bored as soon i play this game lol cos of other the non stop hack n slash

  • Proper chip shop arcade action!!

  • The word "Who" gets annoying after a while... LOL

  • @inFAMOUSmaster Nice, I always thought it was "huh"

  • its all about score and lifes used not time

  • I used to play this game all the time when it came out but the only machine in town had a bug and it used to crash at a particular point - 1.56 reminds me of it but I don't know if that is the spot as I remember the later material. It was a diagonal with water at bottom. Man it used to shit me I couldn't get past it cos of the fucking machine

  • This game might look easy, but its brutally difficult. Along with Ghost 'N Goblins, these two games form the core of early arcade platformers!

    Great gameplay, and nice videos!

  • Well played again! I like the stage & obstacle designs in 'Rastan.'

  • Dood, I think you're a beast. The timing, the patience, who cares if you're 1st, 2nd or whatever. I think you have crazy Rastan skillz !

  • I need to thank you for showing me how to defeat that stage 3 boss here. Shukumas or what he's called. Damn, I've spent a fortune in credits on him now. =)

  • @Hohltn stage 4 boss is the hardest one, good luck!!

  • What I'd like to know is how all those topless female beasts (harpies, medusas, and I think angels) got past the video game censors. Is it just because they didn't appear until Stage 2 and censors never play that far?

  • @chriskallen1 Oh, they're pretty frontal in the manual for the Sega version as well. The thing is, there were no video game censors at the time (except for Nintendo's in-house publishing board). Happy days.

  • You are a true Master.Really enjoyed watching these videos.I remember this game from the arcades and I have it on a PC compilation. The music is superb only bettered by Turrican 1 on the Amiga I think.Love to see you do that game, I have completed it but not Rastan.Cheers.

  • Great play dude, youre a swordmaster indeed. The music of this game is soooo EPIC! its timeless

  • rad

  • The bosses seem way too easy?? I don't think any of them had time to make one attack yet.

  • 0:23

That guy couldn't take the awesome and legged it xD

  • At the tail end of the video, you guys will have noticed how much more reach the mace weapon has against the regular sword, fire sword and axe, as it actually killed the boss of Round 4 without him counterattacking.

  • Extraordinary agility with this fantasy-platformer, I recall playing it at Preston college days, I remember it was incredibly atmospheric and detailed. The orange lion/goat/snake multi-headed creatures are Chimeras, by the way. Nasty things that have multiple attacks and magic resistance in AD&D.

  • Rygar, Rastan great game..Rastan Taito Legends vol.2 for PS2

  • Loved this game. Swallowed so much of my time and money, it did - this and Rygar...never was this good, though. Awesome skill, EFM!!

  • game was fantastic use to play it all the time couldn't beat it like you though:)

  • Great game this is!! I love it.

I got it on a compilation disc on a games disc for the PS2

  • I love the discipline. This is a great game. Love the sound for it too... it was was always great to hear in the arcade.

  • You are a brave fighter to have cleared these difficult stages

  • what system is that on?

  • I think its the arcade version

  • Lords of Light you're good!!!!!

  • you're unreal. you are the rastan master.

  • Your the 2nd best? good for you!

  • you know what i mean , you have second best time .. also the other guy uses one life .

  • ahhh, like I replied on your other post, I didn't do a speed run. I try to take all of the side routes which does take longer and I try to avoid taking hits...

  • I used to play this game, it's quite challening. Problem is there is no savepoint to resume. However it's an arcade so it won't have any savepoint. Man you're good!

  • what are you Jamaican? Cause you are a master Rastanfarian

  • Awesome man. You play very well.

  • Dobrze koles gra nie powiem ale gralem duzo lepiej bez 2 zdan ,gierka kozak duzo bym dal zeby pograc ale nie umiem jej uruchomic przez emulator:-(
