How else are you supposed to throw a pass? When I played pickup bball at UCLA men's gym, I had to do the same thing to get a pass off. Though the defender wasn't THAT close to me(so no contact).

I think a huge reason the Magic lost this game is because of this no-call foul on Kobe. That three pointer is what ended the game in OT. After that, the Magic were done. If that foul would have been called, the series could have been 2-2.
Again, learn the rules. Penalty or no penalty, an offensive foul only results into a turnover. Only defensive personal fouls, or loose ball fouls results into free throws even while in the penalty. The penalty is the bonus free throw after the first. It has nothing to do with an offensive foul. Your lack of basketball knowledge is really on full display here, Buddy.

I think a huge reason the Magic lost this game is because of this no-call foul on Kobe. That three pointer is what ended the game in OT. After that, the Magic were done. If that foul would have been called, the series could have been 2-2.

Again, learn the rules. Penalty or no penalty, an offensive foul only results into a turnover. Only defensive personal fouls, or loose ball fouls results into free throws even while in the penalty. The penalty is the bonus free throw after the first. It has nothing to do with an offensive foul. Your lack of basketball knowledge is really on full display here, Buddy.

The Lakers couldnt buy a foul call in the last 2 quarters of Game 4, in the 4th the Magic drew 12 fouls and the Lakers had 2.. WTF? Or that one play where Pietrus blatantly hit Kobe's arm and he airballed it out of bounds. Apparently to the officiating crew Kobe's terrible enough to not even hit the rim.
The officiating was straight up embarrassing these last 2 games. I swear they were doing whatever they could to force a game 6.

Right before the hit, it's clear Nelson had stopped his momentum - otherwise he would have run into Bryant prior to the hit. Once he got there, Kobe *started* his momentum in the direction of Nelson, driving his elbow into Nelson's face. CLEARLY a foul.

lol .. nelson has every right to that space. Coming up with his elbows is not an excuse to bend the rules. kobe's sees him clearly. A foul is supposed to be incidental contact. the person committing the foul is not supposed to be doing it intentionally. So if someone is double teamed and they block off the players space to try and regain possession then that's good defense. It is never okay to throw elbows to get out of it. Incidental or intentional it's a foul.

So it's nelson's fault for playing defense? no, it's kobe throwing an elbow to the face. If that were legal you'd see alot more broken noses and black eyes. Okay, my bad. I watched the video again. Nelson DID run into Kobe's elbow. Kobe was already moving his arm getting ready to pass and Nelson ran up there and stuck his face into the elbow. Great defense, but bad decision. That's akin to someone running up on Dwight Howard when he's bringing down the rebound. You'd have to be an idiot to run up there and try to get the ball.

It was an offensive foul, but the officials were rarely calling fouls against the Magic. Kobe drove into the lane multiple times and got hacked or bumped by Howard and not one foul was called. It was almost as if the officials knew the Lakers were going to win, so they decided to not call any fouls. Amazing how the Lakers used EVERY SINGLE person from the bench because of the fouls called against them, and yet, they still won the game. That's talent.

are you kidding me? jameer nelson is playing good defense there. he has every single right to get in kobe's face. his hands are up, his feet are set, and he's not fouling kobe at all. that is textbook defense right there. you can't penalize someone for playing too good defense.
it's the same with a charge. if the defense has his feet set and his arms straight up, he has every right to stand in front of the player as he drives to the lane. the foul here is on kobe and no one else.

This wasn't intentional, before Nelson even got to Kobe, Kobe was already raising his hands, but Nelson just ran in TOO close and caught the elbow as Kobe was passing the ball.

it wasn't intentional but it was still a foul. if you accidentally trip on your laces and then fall on somebody, they're still going to call a foul because you decked him. it's the same thing here. if you elbow somebody in the face it should be a foul.

If you flip around the players and Nelson did that to Kobe he would have been ejected from the game. Kobe makes sure that he sticks his elbow out just far enough to hit him knowing that it would look like an accident and that hes Kobe so they will never suspend him for anything in the finals.
