It seems to me that Rathika had done some rehearsal prior to the this interview-she stuttered a bit in Tamil! Anyhow that didn't really matters to me! So how's she coming along? any progress? good luck Tamil Canadians.

Whatever the reasons or justifications for her doing what she is doing, Rathika is a first many ways. First Asian woman in a Canadian county - and first Tamil. She still makes me proud :)

You all know what had happened to former MP Rubi Dalla in this election-she spent inordinate time in her appearance than helping out needy people! It's pretty sad to say that we Tamils had been fooled out with our own ethnic people. No one should held culpable for those past snafus, It's all about our moronic mentalities! Mm...

As long as Tamils are blinded with patriotic illusions and prides, She will have no problem in winning election 2015.

It's just an axiom, Canadian foreign policy can be amended with persevering effort-solidarity of Tamil people. I don't know Rathika's ulterior motives for plunging into politics; If it were only meant for making filthy lucre in short time, she needs to rethink it. Ontario Annual salary for MP begins around 157K(157,000.00) plus Car allowance 57K(57,000.00) etc. and etc. Pretty plum job eh?

Well, Rathika is still being widely touted as a crusader against Srilankan Govn't atrocities; I hope she wound't do any sort of sickening things like those shrewd and crook politicians!

Let's be frank guys, evidently lot of people cast their votes for NDP because of 'Jack Layton' and his down to earth pledges. I've heard little tittle tattle about Rathika that she now starts to defying lot of Srilankan Tamil issues-often reasoning out with Harper's majority govn't.

She is not a fluent Tamil girl; just an average girl fortunate to be at the right place and time. The good thing is her election would make Tamil youngsters confident to seek high positions but the downside is it reflects the lack of fluency and talent in the Sri Lankan Tamil community.

People in the community would know who she is.if she did allot of community service but they don't she is a stranger in the community. Her website doesn't show any community service whatsoever and helping your relatives and is not community service. No Rathika No not this time or any time!!!!!!

Sorry but she doesn't have the experience to be an MP and represent in Ottawa. More community service to all cultures not just her own would be helpful. Also serve at the municipal level before aiming so high without establishing herself in the community. Her website doesn't show any community service whatsoever. Please don't try to pull the wool over the voters eyes!!!!

@nasatwoburn actually she only started doing 'community work' when she knew she would be the ndp candidate in the next election. it was mostly to gain support during election time. i live in the scarb rouge river. no one has really heard of her until a year or so ago.
