  • How is it compensated with the EV metering? I'm a beginner can you please explain. Thank you kindly.

  • @guardaltec TTL flash doesn't compensate for the EV metering , you have to do that manually . Nikon's TTL-BL and Canon's E-TTL do that though - they are the newer versions of flash . With these versions the camera tells the flash to back off depending on how well exposed the ambient already is .

  • @guardaltec TTL basically sets your flash according to the exposure within the field of view of your camera's metering system based on the metering settings that you have chosen i.e. evaluate, center weight and spot metering on Nikon cameras. It is most beneficial when you want to pay more attention to the areas of your picture where your flash is not effective such as the background and create a balance between foreground and background according to your taste. There are more uses though.

  • It's totally same with the Coolpix series. I always have to compensate with the EV steps on my L110 because the flash "burns" the subject I'm taking photo of.

  • Good demo

  • thanks for this demo..very helpful for a beginner like me

  • @rickydude2001 Thanks for the feedback - I'm glad it helped :)
