  • i got to meet him i think 2000 not sure was about 16. my mom got her pic takin with him still have it today cool guy.

  • All you had to do was go by his bar. He was there almost everytime I stopped by (a few times a year).

    RIP Capt. Tony

  • I crossed the bridge on the river Kwai

I stood next to the lion head in Singapore

I climbed a pyramid in Egypt

I floated down the canals of Venice

I played a part in ending the Cold War

I helped liberate a country from tyranny

Yes, I took the first class boat to China

And Jimmy there's still so much to be done

  • Captain Tony was very real...he bought the original Sloppy Joe's bar just off Duval Street in Key West and served two terms as mayor of that venerable town.

He had I think seven wives and 35 children. I spent the day with him at the bar once and was regaled by some amazing tales. From all accounts most are true....rum and gun running between Havana and the Keys are well documented.

    We miss you Tony.

  • RIP Capt. Tony Taracino...RIP

  • no sound you tube bullshit !!@!!

  • Ik heb Changes in Latitudes vertaalt in het Nederlands. Een heerlijke song. Puur eerlijk en met het hart gezongen. Jimmy your the best

  • I ask myself that everyday.

  • i 2nd that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

memphis jb fan/parrotthead since late 70's..........remember him doing pencil thin mustache on a variety show......

  • A duet with Alan Jackson?

  • Don't ask me why, but this song makes me want to play the stock market successfully, move to the bayou, wrestle alligators, hunt wld boar with my bowie knife, spend my evenings in the French Quarter with the ladies of the night, while drinking my rum straight from a trough. I'm a lizard person.

  • This is the greatest comment I have ever seen.

  • I would much rather live and die happy than die and live miserably. We all get one shot, why should we not make it a good one? That's why we follow the "the dancing life" Thanks for the comment Herd! :-)

  • I'm a huge Buffet fan but I never knew that Captain Tony was a real guy. Can some one please tell me the story of how this song came to pass?

  • Live by the bay...what a great VHS that shut me up as a kid...Jimmy is the man!!!

  • We miss you Tony...thanks for the free beer...you lived an incredible life and Jimmy gave you props in this song. Key West is a strange and wondrous place.

  • what video release is this from?

  • The one he did back in the 80's by Biscanye Bay. "Live by the Bay" I think it's called. Great concert video.
