When I play GTA, it was something in my ps3 that sounded and my ps3 was turned off. Now the internet does not work so well, do you think I can hand it in for service?

I guess I got lucky, my GTA4 loads, but then when it gets to the loading screen for a mission (No Love Lost is the mission) it won't load, it loads for about 5 minutes, then freezes.

Leaving discs laying around and not in cases can cause games to scratch and won't work properly. Either that's the reason shown in video or something is wrong with console not recognising Blu-Ray discs.

You probably truned off your system when it told you not too. Save your game progress on a flash drive, then format your hard drive. That should do it.

you might be turning the system off wrong, dont flip the back switch, you have to hold the PS button and a screen will come up and you turn it off that way......... the 360 sucks, the exclusive games are way better, mainly because halo is one of the worst games ever and because gears isnt that good, also because mgs4 is UNBELIEVABLE, but you wouldnt know that.

I had a less serious version of the problem you are having...it would load most of the games that i put in but would crash whilst playing them. It did at do with ProStreet what yours did with Madden...maybe it totally refuses to recognise EA stuff? I took my playstation back to the shop i got it from and got my money back...did you get yours fixed?

if you have proof that you purchased your ps3 then your good
go to the playstation website, go to support and go to obtain service. fill everything out and you should get a box 3 days after you fill out the order,then you send your ps3 to sony and you should recieve one in a week.

I 've had the game since May 4th, and it worked perfectly until about a day ago. Now it seems stuck in this freezing phase. I've heard that if your ps3's warranty is still in tact, you can tell sony about it, and they'll send you a new system. apparently the freezing only happens on certain older serial number ps3's, it doesn't happen on the new ones.
this probably happened when you turn your system off from the back when a game freezes. DON'T DO THAT u SHITFACE. eject the cd first, then hold the power button at the front for about 5-10 secs
I wasted $65 on gta4. It froze every 5-10 minutes and it wasn't all that great of a game anyway. Rockstar tech support sucks. At least sony told me they will service my ps3 to see if that will fix the problem.

You dont need to hand back all the leads controllers etc,u just give the main ps3 unit back and they put it in a box and give u a replacement one.
Some courrier guy will call with the rebfurbished or remanufactured unit and will take the broken one away with him in a box. I think if ur ps3 is under a month old u get a brand new one.
You may get away with not having a paper receipt if they can confirm u purchased it electronically, or maybe if you happen to get through to a real dead on person.
I bought mine off an ebay retailer, but it was new and sealed.
I had to go down to the library and fax them something that proved i bought it two months ago brand new like i said i did.I just faxed them a PayPal confirmation of payment email printed out, and that done the trick.
They said they'd send another one of the same age and from the same batch in mint condition.
They also got me to read out that serial number on the back of the ps3 over the phone.
Apparently Sony are on the verge of making an official announcement about the problems with GTAIV,& officially recognising this,well that's what they told me on the phone anyway.
Guy from Sony on the phone said Sony are just waiting for an official response/explanation from Rockstar and that it will probably be fixed by some sort of downloadable update.
I wouldnt recommend putting GTAIV anywhere near your ps3 until this is sorted unless you dont mind having to get a replacement ps3 because of it
EXACT same thing happened to my ps3 because of playing GTAIV,getting a replacement on wednesday as mine is only2months old.
Sony representative told me on the fone that since the launch of GTAIV the number of ps3s needing replaced has rocketed.
He said if u get that error message ur ps3 is fucked basically and will need replaced.
A full format which takes about 2hrs40mins may fix it4 an hour or 2if ur lucky,but the error message will return & ur system wont recognise games again sooner or later.

this gtaiv issue is getting mad annoying..whts even more homo is that now my game is freezing even though it worked fine before(except for a couple freezes but it still worked fine) n after seeing some of the other problems, i've yet to see whts currently happening to me..when i load the game up..everything works fine up until the intro video (the one prior to the game loading which u cant skip)..n it just stays there, the music stops, although the vid still continues..this is pissing me off!
Here's what happened to me about an hour ago.I recieved an emai1 from Sony saying to contact their tech support @ 1-800-345-7669. They're replacing my 60 GB manufactured in Jan,2007. Units that have the Broadband CPU, plus PS1, and PS2 chips ,INSTEAD of the EMULATOR chip cannot run GTA4, so they're replacing units free of charge.Call,them and give them the serial #,model #, and Manufacture date to see if you unit slated for replacement.

80010514 error code is a malfunction with the ps3 itself. not the game. the gaming system itself broke down. i researched it. if you're going to buy a ps3 and are worried from this error, don't fret or worry. this rarely happens. too bad it happened to this guy.

this probably happened when you turn your system off from the back when a game freezes. DON'T DO THAT u SHITFACE. eject the cd first, then hold the power button at the front for about 5-10 secs

I wasted $65 on gta4. It froze every 5-10 minutes and it wasn't all that great of a game anyway. Rockstar tech support sucks. At least sony told me they will service my ps3 to see if that will fix the problem.

my system has been through the roughest of time, it being on my truck with me. My student played it in the back when I drove. I thinck it's the positioning of the system I could be wrong, but I've no probs with my PS3

dont blame gta' The exact same thing happened to my 60gb ps3 back in january while playing madden. Tried all my other games they wouldnt work. Most people are sayin gta4 makes it happen or call of duty modernn warfare' but thats only cause there the most popular games. Sony are just fucking cowboys

after i played gta iv for about 3 weeks(about 3-4 hours a day)....my ps3 want start any of my games,movies.....it reading the disc(that bubble in the right top corner)...but it want start the game....lucky me,that i have 3 years warranty(i payed extra money)...if i didnt,its only 1 year

Has to be within the year warranty though, you only get a year then you have to pay to get it fixed.
You can get an extended warranty at Sony's site after your 12 months is up, very advisable.

cuz im gettin a ps3 next week and i just exchanged the GTA4 game from 360 to PS3 because my Xbox360 just broke last week (but its gettin fixed) Did they tell anything why the GTA4 did that to your system. Do they have an update for GTA4 cuz i dont want that shit fuckin up my brand new PS3 40gb. Plus if u do get it back reply to me your PS3 profile so we can battle, for now thanx!?!

You dont need to hand back all the leads controllers etc,u just give the main ps3 unit back and they put it in a box and give u a replacement one.
Some courrier guy will call with the rebfurbished or remanufactured unit and will take the broken one away with him in a box. I think if ur ps3 is under a month old u get a brand new one.
You may get away with not having a paper receipt if they can confirm u purchased it electronically, or maybe if you happen to get through to a real dead on person.

I bought mine off an ebay retailer, but it was new and sealed.
I had to go down to the library and fax them something that proved i bought it two months ago brand new like i said i did.I just faxed them a PayPal confirmation of payment email printed out, and that done the trick.
They said they'd send another one of the same age and from the same batch in mint condition.
They also got me to read out that serial number on the back of the ps3 over the phone.

Not much conciliation though if your ps3 is out of warranty or you don't have a receipt or something and they won't replace it.
Total shit one, if Sony wouldn't replace mine i'd sell all the games for it on ebay and get an xbox instead.

Apparently Sony are on the verge of making an official announcement about the problems with GTAIV,& officially recognising this,well that's what they told me on the phone anyway.
Guy from Sony on the phone said Sony are just waiting for an official response/explanation from Rockstar and that it will probably be fixed by some sort of downloadable update.
I wouldnt recommend putting GTAIV anywhere near your ps3 until this is sorted unless you dont mind having to get a replacement ps3 because of it

EXACT same thing happened to my ps3 because of playing GTAIV,getting a replacement on wednesday as mine is only2months old.
Sony representative told me on the fone that since the launch of GTAIV the number of ps3s needing replaced has rocketed.
He said if u get that error message ur ps3 is fucked basically and will need replaced.
A full format which takes about 2hrs40mins may fix it4 an hour or 2if ur lucky,but the error message will return & ur system wont recognise games again sooner or later.

lol fuk id be pist off! apparently it happened to heaps of ppl with 60gb ps3's...fukn sony fuked alot consumers up the ass ay. we got a ps3 recently but its the 40gb gta4 bundle n works fine...but i still rekon ps3 has just so many problems.
-dvd's look shit
-cant play burned dvds without specifically encoding for ps3
-doesnt upscale dvd's unless u have hdmi
-installation of games limits game library
p.s. rockstar didnt fuck u over, playstation did. it works fine on my newer ps3...

this gtaiv issue is getting mad annoying..whts even more homo is that now my game is freezing even though it worked fine before(except for a couple freezes but it still worked fine) n after seeing some of the other problems, i've yet to see whts currently happening to me..when i load the game up..everything works fine up until the intro video (the one prior to the game loading which u cant skip)..n it just stays there, the music stops, although the vid still continues..this is pissing me off!

Here's what happened to me about an hour ago.I recieved an emai1 from Sony saying to contact their tech support @ 1-800-345-7669. They're replacing my 60 GB manufactured in Jan,2007. Units that have the Broadband CPU, plus PS1, and PS2 chips ,INSTEAD of the EMULATOR chip cannot run GTA4, so they're replacing units free of charge.Call,them and give them the serial #,model #, and Manufacture date to see if you unit slated for replacement.

80010514 error code is a malfunction with the ps3 itself. not the game. the gaming system itself broke down. i researched it. if you're going to buy a ps3 and are worried from this error, don't fret or worry. this rarely happens. too bad it happened to this guy.
