  • she said 1,600 like its cheap

  • Wow! I pay close to $2000 for layers of foam....

  • the part of those gatekeeper pads tht u go down in butterfly in are so thin.

  • Ah, Gatekeepers... I miss those pads.

  • PU leather lol

  • so thats why they're so expensive

  • Good lord that looks confusing lol.

  • "...spend 40 thousand dollars a year on research and development."

So, that's like, the cost of 40 pads on sale.

DO NOT BUY MADE IN CHINA SHIT!!!

It doesn't last, and there's no re-sale value.

Keep Craftspeople working - not children!

    (rant over)

  • tps > all

  • I'm trying to figure out what makes these pads turn outwards in a butterfly.

  • this is just spam, read an other comment.

  • hello i am microsoft tool, i am going to tell you how hockey pads are made

  • Vaughn > all

  • patric basterd

  • Them pads were always so expensive. I'm broke so I can only afford a brand called Tour. They work just the same though.

  • haha too bad rbk is made overseas now, making goalie equipment is an awesome job, easiest job i have ever had

  • if you get pro gear its all made in canada an the us

  • no its def not, they have some factories that make in canada and the us, but some pro gear is still made overseas

  • lol patrick bassturd

  • the rbk xpulse pads fall apart after 1 season. not kidding.

  • I have brians zeroG... And how can V3 cost over 1500€ when it only costs like 1400-1490? My brians ZeroG cost 1490€...

  • I have the zeroGs too. i only paid $1300 for them when they just came out. They are amazing arent they, better than the V3s i think. i had those before i got the zeroGs

  • i have Vaughn V3's. best pads ever

  • agreed. best pad ever made

  • Cool, now I can make my own pads at home hehe! Boy am I ever gonna save some money!!!!!

  • cool i got ccm gatekeeper pads :D

  • CCM pads aren't so great- i'm not crazy about them. $1600? okay, maybe if you got custom colors/ name on them. i have reebok that cost $325. this is my 3rd year with them, and i'm getting new ones at the ends of the season.

theres no way i'd pay 1600 for those.

  • very nice video

  • im a goalie and my pads cost $499.99

  • wow...what kin of pads? mine were 1300

  • wait... i just read that and i sounded like a big dick.

  • my TPS pads [im a peewee goalie] costs 700 bucks whered u get yours/what brand?

  • You can see the worker is wearing a Columbus BlueJackets shirt.

  • Pads and goalie gear are expensive. I am a hockey goalie and I have to spend quite some of my money. But when you make those saves it becomes worth it. Cool to see how what I wear is made.

  • Many guys seem to wonder if 1,600$ is too much for Gatekeepers. Remember, that the Gatekeepers were extremely expensive as they were a brand new gear of CCM´s. Those days it wasn´t a miracle if they costed 1,600$ and i think this vid is filmed those days.

  • i think they mean canadian dollars which is less then american dollars...right?

  • RBK should have never got rid of the ccm name in goal tending, and ccm should have never fired brian heaton

  • Brians DX2 alll the way

  • nahh b, ima rbk guy :]

  • She sounds like a frikin robot

  • Thanks for the post. Never seen a pad made before. Now I know why the cost so bloody much!!

  • those pads SUCK

  • sheer woods suck

  • you do mean sher-wood then =]

  • lololololololololol, "custom embroydery so that if the equipment is lost." if u lose your bads, let me know so i can laugh at u.

  • You should've said, "if u lose your bads, let me know so i can kill you" Considering if you lose your pads, you deserve to die.

  • gatekeepers are ugly

  • That was an interesting vid. I have Sherwood CS's. Im getting new ones soon. Those pads looked pretty sweet.

  • That would be a nice talent to have. You would be able to reface your pads every season to match.

  • she kinda sounded like a robot..

  • @Mrnockers181 sounding like a robot = monotone, reading or reciting something she memorized

  • pretty interesting

  • mine are montreals

  • my old pads weree the ones at 00:22 the koho ones they were comfy

  • lol whats with this lady's voice?

  • lol? I don't get it... her voice sounds just fine to me.

  • @snowytear Ikr

  • @MVTv1

    shes canadian ehhh

  • @regginnolemretaw go fuck urself

  • Sweet!!! So thats how its made:)

  • has anyone ever heard of battrams? theyre sweet I got a custom pair about a year ago. look up battram custom goal equipment on google you will find theyre site there

  • if any body lives near toronto they should go to the hockey store in the vaughn mills mall they have amazing pads there plus a wide selection.

  • i spent $2800 on custom vaughns from the factory

  • you got waaaaaaaay over charged! i got a custom set of vaughn velocity 3's factory direct and it cost me !1600

  • I got rbk premier series 2 pads and they do cost 1600 $

  • my friend bought $1200 lundqvist pads.

  • That's awesome. I would love to have those.

  • $1600, wow and I thought my $750 Vic's were expensive. Granted they're really old, Vic isn't even a company anymore haha. My pads are definitely not legal sized anymore.

  • ya vic is still around they make composite sticks

i used one it was so bad i took 1 snapshot and the blade cracked and after 12 slapshots it broke . never buy any vic composite sticks, and vic shouldn't be around anymore

  • Really? I wasn't aware that Vic still made sticks. I know they don't make goalie pads anymore though. I have an old Richter Butterfly Cut, it's my favorite goal stick.

  • was ur richter stick made by vic?

and if it was there old equipment was good but then they got bought by some guy who pretty much destroyed the company

  • Yeah it's the old one from the 90's. I still use it in dek hockey. It's short, but it's by far my favorite ever.

  • Yeah $1600.00 is a load of bull. Not even a pair of custom V'3's are that much!

  • Umm yes they are.

  • Umm no they're not

  • 1,600 bucks is a huge rip off for a pair of ccm pads.

  • i want to download this, is there another site i can.

  • LOL $1600 thats like for a pair of vaughn velocity 7's

  • 1,600 Dollers I've never seen a pair that much

  • that was awesome, hey I have no life, maybe i should try making my own pads.

  • i hav the CCM pads in 00:27 thier pretty flexible

  • sickkkk

  • hehe gotta love those pads i prefer watching them in use then being made but still an interesting video =D

  • Now i feel like the money I just spent on my Vapor XX's was justified. That's an intense process

  • really interesting *****

  • I'm jealous of the goalies who use those pads....I never get to use my own. I always have to rent....

  • Thanks! I've always wanted to see this but I never could catch it on Discovery!
