Thanks for you comments. So may people share your view. Many are of age to have been fans of Frank back in the 1960's and later. But, I am hearing from a large number of new fans who are too young to have been fans back in the 1960s through the 1980's. They are hearing his songs for the first time and are struck by how fantastic a singer Frank was. They say they love his music. Again, thanks for posting your kind words. Bud
The music "experts" tried to tell Frank Ifield that yodeling was "verbotten". After all, how could someone be a popular singer and a yodeler? Frank showed them better.
Elvis and the Beatles would not be considered "relevant" by today's standards. After all, who would want to watch some guy with weird hair and a sneer gyrating all over the stage, or see four British guys with mop heads sing strange harmonies and performing to odd rhythyms. That just does not cut it.
How can you not smile when you see Frank performing? He is so smiley and what a fabulous voice. It brings a smile to my face every time I see this. Brilliant! Thank you!
These posts have brought such joy to my days. I LOVE Frank Ifield and this song. Gutted that the'show of the week 1968' singing 'From nowhere' was removed. Wish I had a copy of it.
What a talent! As a teenager I often wondered why he never became a big star in the USA. Good looking, with a pleasing and distinctive true voice and an incredible falsetto. In a way, I suppose he was "too wholesome" for the changing times of the 60's and 70's.
One of my favourite singers. Awesome voice. Big fan. I am 40, so hopefully squeeze into the 'younger fan' category!!

You know, it's one thing to be able to sing falsetto in the first place!...
But it is quite another to be able to sing Falsetto with such Power as in his final notes of this song!!

I love him now but I thought he was really creepy when I was little. I used to hide behind the setee. I think it was the yodelling. I have recovered.

I loved him then but think the Yodel song is creepy now. Sold the single for 20p in 1974!
