I am trying to find the complete set of Telly Savalas info commercials about the Player's Club. I see two of them are on You Tube, but not the best one where he speaks real slow and drawn out...."Reno, Vegas, Atlantic City, you know where the action is..." and "your toooooo smaaaarrrrt to pay full price"...
I would be willing to buy the entire set if possible....
You know it's funny, but the first time I ever heard of Telly Savalas was on the "Players" club commercials! I STILL remember that 1 tagline "REnO, Tahoe..the Carribean," (similar to the 1 you brought up). :)
I also remember being sick as a dog around Halloween in '87 or so w/a bad ear infection. I could barely lift my head off the bed, w/o getting dizzy. Well, I was flipping through the channels( I remember seeing the standard Mcdonald's
(continued) "Mcboo bucket" commercials)& then coming across a special that Telly was hosting. I remember it had him opening a vault or safe. I can't remember what was in the safe, or what the significance was. I've asked others about this, & they've said I'm probably confusing it w/Geraldo's special on Al Capone's vault. I know for a fact that I'm right though(I've also seen Geraldo's special). I've tried looking it up & came up empty. I'll try finding more info. Have you seen the Telly special?
Oh Lord...I spent my entire high school career imitating the ultrasmooth Telly (actually, now that I think of it, a sort of exaggerated version of such). Thanks for posting...it's really great to see it again.

We always laughed at this commercial since it was so tacky and low class.

The SNL skit was hilarious. "You'll enjoy masturbation priviliges in hotels and casinos around the world". RIP Phil Hartman.

Don't forget that SNL one time did a kick-ass parody with the "Players With Yourselves Club" and Phil Hartman as Telly.
