My daughter has sma type 1. When you accept that everything is the Will of the Creator you understand the realities of this world. I am a believer in God and it is only through this belief that I can remain strong and accept destiny as well as remember everlasting bliss in the hereafter where my child will be running. When you understand that this world is only temporary and a test in every sense, you understand GOD
This is why I'm an atheist. Why would God allow something like this to even exist? There is no reasoning to this, I don't care what excuse someone can come up with. Look at these kids...
@jihanifan You're forgetting that God supposedly created this scenarios and threw these children into a bedridden life.
You disagree? If so, why turn to an omnipotent being that cannot produce a fair lifestyle for these children? Think about it before you purely rely off of faith.
@beetlebomb1 If you look at disability as being a curse you are cursing God when you say it comes from him. If you're like most special needs kids who don't know the difference between being able to move and not being able to move you eventually decide it is a blessing. If you have a positive attitude towards it you are actually blessing God by saying it comes from him.
Another charity that wasn't listed is The Hope and Light Foundation. SMA is closer to a cure than any other neuromuscular disorder than any other according to the NIH. Please donate!
Does this mean they're able to help with really low muscle tones caused by different diseases or disorders that people are born with? I don't have SMA, but I have a condition that causes my muscle tone to be pretty low, and it's affecting my breathing and everything. When I was born, the doctors of Duke Medical Center in NC said I was the weakest baby they had ever seen. I'm looking to find solutions for muscle problems. Please tell me what you know. Thank you. :)

I am in a wheelchair because I have Cerebral Palsy. I am not cursed with this. Quite the contrary, I feel well blessed.
