A dog is not a Honda Civic - something you can buy and modify the way you want. It's an intelligent living creature with a nervous system just as sensitive as yours. A word to you - If you don't like the looks of a Doberman as they are when they're born, don't get a Doberman. Stop abusing and mutilate these animals to feed your own ego.
man ears up at 5 months, awesome. One of my girl's flopped until 6 months, then they stood, now the other one is down and will be forever. Unless I drop the cash on corrective surgery............but I don't know about that
@phillipmc2000 wow, only 4 weeks to stand? Is that faster than normal, or about average (maybe it also depends on crop length too)? I keep seeing pics of dogs at different ages with their ears still taped.
@kisakikun it is a little faster than my last doberman. i had to tape and retape his ears for about 12 weeks. i just got a little lucky with tazer i guess. the vet that cropped his ears really knew what she was doing. thanks for the comments, if you want to see updates on him just let me know!!1
@phillipmc2000 Ohhh, I definitely do - He's gorgeous! I'm definitely suffering from "want my Dobie now!" You're not on the East Coast, are you? I've only heard of a few vets in my local area who'll do this, so I'm keeping my eyes open for recommendations of good vets. Thanks again for responding!
@kisakikun yes i'm on the east coast of north carolina. You definitely need to do your research on vets for ear cropping. Best advice I can give you on that is ASK a lot of questions before you decide on a vet to do the ears casue once they are done they are done!!
