  • Damn, thats kind of annoying. I want a laptop that can play this game atleast well enough to be 30+fps on low settings on any map. I guess the wait will continue.

  • @muerteman2915 my np8662 with a Q9200 3Ghz does that easily

  • Just one more question. Have you tried it with the other map offered in the beta? Does it work as well as this?

  • @muerteman2915 After playing a few games on the new map it seems that it does not run as smoothly. The frame rate is constantly in the low 20's no matter what settings I put it to. It is most likely because the map is much bigger and almost 100% outside. It is still playable at the low fps but i wish it were a little higher.

  • all things considered... if i didn't see that it was a np5165, i woulda thought that your video was done with something like an np8130. That driver (i have it on my np8662), does WONDERS.

  • @ganzonomy I know, i was shocked when i saw how well the beta ran for me after i downloaded the drivers for it. Nvidia knows what they are doing.

  • Just ordered a Dell XPS 17 - 2.2ghz (turboboost to 3.3ghz) - i7 with 8gb ram and the 3gb GT555M graphics card. Soo excited that your setup is showing the card perform so well at such high resolutions. Thx!

  • @senor360 Just to clarify something. Though i play with the resolution at 1080p i have it running in a window that's only about 720p. For some reason i found that the beta ran much better at those settings. But over all the card does perform well while playing this game so I'm sure you will be happy with it.

  • @itsadurg I have the same laptop as senor360, and bf3 ran about the same for me with the new drivers, do you think the game is worth playing if the bigger maps like caspian border are such low fps? or will maybe editing the config file and lowering my settings a bit get me a better fps? i love my laptop but wish i had a better gpu to get rid of the bottleneck :< i dont know if the sager has the same version gt555m as mine, is it the 144 core, 590hmz 192bit ddr3. but i oc'd it to 770mhz

  • @Marveh Well i cant honestly guarantee that you will be able to run it as well as you would like. If you are worried that you might not be able to run it better i recommend torrenting it just to see if you can change the settings around a bit to run it better. If it works and the game runs the way you want then buy it, if not then just delete it.

  • @HD4TEK Well there are pros and cons to having a dual core (i5) over a quad core (i7) but you should be fine with the i5. The i7 produces much more heat than the i5 so you wont have worry as much about overheating. That doesn't mean that it wont still heat up under a lot of stress. The reason i picked the i7 is because i want the extra power and sometimes a strong processor can concatenate for the graphics card when running games. Not too much but it can help.

  • Nice to see that it works even better. Do you know is the i7 2630QM is similar in preformance to the card you have? Or should I try to get the card above the 2760 I believe.

  • @muerteman2915 Well i just checked Sager's site and they now offer the i7-i7-2670QM witch is a happy medium between the 2 options so you could get that processor or you could just stick with the 17-2630. The i7-2760 is definitely more powerful than the other 2 options but it isn't necessarily needed since the gpu is the bottleneck in this system anyway.
