How to Crate Train a Dog

this isn't how my family crate-trained our dog... we would put our dog in the crate (which my parents accidentally got one that was much too big for our medium-sized dog) when we were at work/school and when we went to bed. after about a year, we let him out, and he was a well-behaved dog.

actually, dont go to the puppy when he barks when he wants to play, that gives him the alpha male role. he wont listen to you when he grows up, therefore making it harder to train. im not an expert in dogs or grammar, but, thats what i read online.

in my house we have a mudroom and that is my dogs "crate". he had one but he grew out of it. he is taller then me when hes on my shoulders and im 4'9". lol.

crates are ok for travel, but i wouldnt keep them in one as normal. if they had to have their own space, id just put a doggy bed in the laundry room, close the door, and make sure stuff is put away so they cant get at stuff like detergents. some dogs actually like doghouses. afterall, before they were domesticated, their ancestors lived outdoors so it may feel more natural to them.
