This song is seriously underrated for its "dark" brilliance. Danny Elfman's ability to combine his own personal angst with an almost Dostoyevsky-esque insight into the sadness of the human condition will stir a sense of recognition in anyone who ever felt his heart too deep for this shallow world. Combine Pink Floyd's existentialism with The Police's despair and you have Danny Elfman when he opens up such as he did in this song.
I was shopping at some store before Christmas when this song came on over the store's sound system. I stopped, listened and remembered when this song first come out. From that moment on, the dancing didn't stop. I loved Oingo Boingo. . and Danny Elfman. Great band from the '80s.
@kilts4u2 No crap! Really? Man, I would so flip out if I heard these guys at the store!! Oingo Boingo is awesome and are keeping me in my two way mind and different from the rest of people. They give me my creative fuel when I feel all out....honestly, them and Tim Burton inspire the hell outta me, and I don't know what I would do without them. As crazy as it sounds, they've practically saved my life!
WOW. I can't believe i found this song on here. Many memories with this song. I was in my very early teens when 1st listening to this song. It actually kept me out of trouble so to speak and motivated me in Martial arts back then for many years. So This song I have to thank and the band. Sorry for the life story if you will...just a pleasure to hear this again after so many years have passed by.
@rividiner Haha, it's alright, I have a tendancy to do that a lot myself. I used to do tae-kwon-do myself but got up to 2 belts away from a black then I kept forgetting all my forms and had issues with the new moves, and after so long we couldn't afford to do it anymore. Plus, I was moved to the advanced classes which was all adults and I was like 12 and a frail female so after so long I couldn't take it anymore cause I constantly getting seriously hurt....
--this cut is from the LP Dead Man's Party. actually i got this CD at a yardsale for 50cents. [this was an accidental posting to see if it got past the copyright police]. thnx for your comment and thanx to Danny for yet another slice of his zany genius. 64citykid.
I just FAVORITED this video --- just because you've got the ONLY COMPLETE VERSION OF THIS SONG in the whole Youtube. Congratulations, brother, and Very Thank You. Please, never delete this one. I also rated it 5 stars.

There's razors in my bed, That come out late at night
They always disappear, Before the morning light
I'm dreaming again, Of life underground
It doesn't ever move, It doesn't make a sound
And just when I think, That things are in their place
The heavens are secure, The whole thing explodes in my face
Love the emphasis on face right at the end there.

No wonder Elfman is paid big bucks to write movie scores. A musician's musician that man. Adrenaline. That is all.

You can really hear bits & pieces of the Simpsons theme in everyone of their songs.
