THANK YOU SO MUCH! REALLY HOPE THAT EVERYONE IN MY COUNTRY, COLOMBIA, SEE THIS DOCUMENTARY. I can't imagine how the kidnap could have been. I really appreciate that you have a critical point in the whole situation, the kidnapping was totally unnecessary, as well as the thousands of Colombians kidnapped, but it's pretty sad that it has become a subject of media frenzy, like the case of Ingrid Betancourt or the northamericans. It shows the whole thing just like it is, human suffering in civil wars
I just saw this amazing documentary in Infinito Channel.
i was arrested once, few hours, for insulting a violent cop. Being in jail was the worst day of my life. The angry u feel, humilliation, you can't do or say anything against armed men, those cowards sometimes talk to you kindly and sometimes don't. Your life is totally controlled, you have to obey those people because they have guns.
i can't imagine how is being kidnapped more than 100 days.
@canimota They are the ELN. A Marxist group similar to the FARC that funds it's activities almost solely through kidnapping. Though taxes on Farmers, coca growers and drug smugglers also make up part of their activites. They're Marxist Liberation Theologists, their ideology being set by the number of Marxist Jesuits that have made up their leadership, including their late ideological leader Manuel El Cura Perez.
'they may end up dying here, knowing nothing of the real world' - the last comment made by the narator Mark.
After waching the docu I was left frustrated. I thought the experience would make them think outside thier world and to find some empathy. I supose there was never to be a happy ending here but just twisted lives as a result, with the only positive message being violence and hostage taking never works out for anyone.
The more i think over it, the better this documentary is.
Eight morons go backpacking, oh how very trendy, to one of the most violent countries on Earth. Guess what; they get kidnapped! So a few years later three of the pillocks decide to go back and worry their families to death once again. Guess what; the woman cries, as in every programme it seems nowadays. Guess what; it's been a 'journey.' How bloody predictable, selfish and bloody boring can you get!
Colombia has been known for two things: violence and cocaine. Wonder which one the European "tourists" flew all the way there to find? This documentary looks full of self-indulgence and bullshit, hence this opaque trailer.
@bc9021010001 thats quite a sinical way to view the film. Of course it's going to be to a certain extent "self - Indulgent" - maybe not in the aggressive way u mean though. What the film does is brings a personal feel to an extremely big issue in Columbia. It engages with people on a personal level and describes the mental challenges you can face when in a possible "life or death" scenario whilst also teaching lessons of misunderstanding, desperation and forgiveness - maybe u just dont see that.
@dickie5678 I'm assuming you meant to type cynical and Colombia. The rest of your comment has the same solipsistic flavor as this video. Were you involved with it?
@agaace - the film will be on television in the US later this year - keeping checking out our website mykidnapper com or our facebook page. Thanks for your interest.
I saw this as a Featured Story of the Week in Facebook and I became interested in watching this Documentary. Is there any way I could watch this over the internet. Since, I believe there is no official showing here in my country, the Philippines.
muy interesante.....otro punto de vista...Colombia un gran pais donde aun quedan pocos desadaptados sin ideas ni convicciones claras..fue una triste experiencia
Mark I'd love to see your film, I'm very keen on showing it to my students in order to see clearly what is the other reality some people live in the country. Let me know how !!!
We hope to see this film in Colombia too. Our apologies for your experience and is good to tell there's also many honest, hard working, decent people in Colombia.
@Rodven you can see the film tonight in Bogota at the Museo de Arte Moderne. No need to apologise. It was the actions of a small group of people and I know that Colombians are a great people, some of my great friends are Colombian.
Also, I loved Radiohead, but now I will love them eight times more for being in the film.

@canimota They both are almost the same, both are terrorists. But farc are more inhumane, merciless.
