whichever you can afford, although in games, you'll get very little difference with the i7, barely if not noticeable. i5 is your better choice because of price. but if you have money to blow, go for the i7.

I think this board would be meant for people who dont want to spend $1500 on 3 5870's, but people who want to get 3-4 gtx 9800's or 4770's. for like $500. Cheap cards, but in large numbers are awesome. Plus there are people that game on 30" monitors with 1440p resolution and want all the best at 60fps. If you have the money for it and nothing more important to spend it on, how is it a waste of money?
