this is a stupid question: after installing portal on ur laptop, does everything else on the computer slow down? over the past few years, everytime i install something-even if i dont play it, the computer slows down a hell lot. even after i uninstall it, the speed doesnt improve either. the problem is i want a macbook AND portal 2 and if macbooks do the annoying "slow-down-but-never-speeds-up-after-uninstalling" happens, then imma reconsider about portal 2.
@siumaihargow My computer is slow, but I just work around it TBH. I don't think Portal is causing it though but I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure it's the replacement hard disk that Apple put in my computer. Sorry I couldn't really help.
Will Portal 2 work this well? I just recently got a Macbook Pro (2010 model 15 inch i7) and want to try out Portal 2 on it, but I don't want to spend 50 bucks on something that won't look good.
@Chezmat1 I forget the framerate for this video, but after I recorded it I turned some settings off in Portal which weren't need and the performance went up a lot. So yes, I would say the Mac gameplay is somewhat smooth and easily playable.
@SirSafer Totally, :/ No but seriously you're fucking stupid if you think portal is't real gaming. Suck a dick and die you multiplayer faggot. P.S go watch the tf2 on mac demo and get the fuck out of these comments.
@SirSafer This is to show the performance of the MacBook Pro only and to help people who are thinking of buying one of these. Not to show which games are "real" games. I will be uploading videos every saturday such as; Crysis, Crysis Warhead, FarCry2 and many more...
@unforgiveable777 it's a bit laggy on high but it's playable and this isn't even running on the optimal settings that portal recommends. Some lagg was caused by the screen capture software. When you take this into account that this is an integrated graphics chip the performance is outstanding. If you were to play this on a Macbook pro 13" I'd recommend you leave the graphics on the optimal settings for more fps. Also this is steam for mac which hasn't had any patches on it. ;-)
@unforgiveable777 oh and there were a few programs running in the background. I found if I turned off colour correction, wait for vsync and turn of motion blur that would give the game an extra 10-20 fps. Hope this helps you

It looks pretty nice. I can't wait to play on a 15 or 17 inch! That would be sweet :D

@bridyl2008 On a MacBook or MacBook Pro which has the glass trackpad you use two fingers, as if you were right clicking. Thanks for commenting
