Check out my channel drummers! :) Need any help with problems or ideas gimme a shout and I shall do a video for you! My current vids aren't amazing as I am a running a lil low on ideas for vids. Check it out guys thank you!!
People that crack their cymbals obviously don't hit their cymbals properly. I've been drumming for years and have never ever cracked a cymbal! And believe me a lot of times I REALLY hit them hard.
@MrFN2 i don't know you or how you play but saying something like "people who break cymbals aren't playing properly" is stupid. you obviousely didn't look at any of my videos where i actually play cuz then you'll know how i play. if you play "right" - yes, you'll break cymbals much less. but if the cymbals are cheap - they'll break. if you have them mounted wrong - they'll break (china cymbals tend to wobble alot). if you gig alot and you're cymbals can get road worn - they'll break. so... yeah.
@12yearsafter12 YES! that's exactly what i wanted to do!! you are a genius! I should have named the video "How to press a cymbal between two planks of wood"! :D
@SlKATlElZlERO aww man that's too bad. well at least you'll be prepared for next time.. and it's important for me to say this - since this video the crack expanded further from a certain point i didn't do a very good job at smoothing out so i can't stress this enough - MAKE SURE YOU SMOOTH OUT THE EDGES OF YOUR CUTS! good luck ;)
the best idea would be to use a dremel or other rotary tool, especially when you have really thin complex cracks, it's much more precise and safe. downside would be: not every one has one i guess. good vid nonetheless though.

to help stop the drill sliding you need to make a tiny divit with a hammer and nail so the drill bit will bite the cymbal and wont move

good job with the saw bro but next time use a bigger batttery drill instead of a cord and if u wanna clean up those edges use a wire brush

The idea is to stop the crack from spreading by drilling out the ends of it.
