I particularly enjoy the story of 40k, but I have a problem with how with each rulebook update, there is no advancement in storyline (in case you also have read the rulebooks)

The one probably thinking of (and the better known) is warhammer 40,000 (or 40K as fans call it): Sort of traditional fantasy meets space opera meets horror meets gallows humour.
But 40K has an elder sister, warhammer fantasy which is a more tradition, medieval fantasy setting. It this latter setting this game is based on.

Today is all Flashy lights and effect and blood for the blood god, i mean for the public to be amused. Sometimes they sacrifice even the story for the graphics.... a real shame.

i have warhammer: mark of chaos... by far outranks all the other RTS games that have good graphics... it has an amazing story, pretty good graphics, and the gameplay is fantastic, i've played the campaign of it over 50 times, both good and bad sides, and i'm still not bored of it, it is by far one of the best RTS games there are

This game, to be honest...looks pretty aweful! =/
Warhammer Fantasy isn't about dark, ebil, gloomy settings. It's high fantasy, it's about specticle and awe and garishly bright colours ;D
Leave the doomz and gloomz to 40K in my opinion.

@AnnatarYoung And your wrong, Fantasy is just as dark and sad as 40k, just read about it. Humanity is always been attacked by many sides, that bright colours dont fit in it, there are many other fantasy worlds for it.

@AnnatarYoung are you kidding? warhammer is the darkestfantasy setting ever made (and every fantasy setting should be like that), its all about war and death! in warhammer even the humans are badass warmongering zealots, while in other games humans are mostly all about bravary and valour but still peace loving, and 40k its the same thing the only defference is that is in the space instead

Going to have to call bullshit on that one, look at...say Darksun, post-apocalyptic world with a dying sun where every single living being is fighting over swiftly dwindling resources, anyone who CAN screw you will while gigantic Dragon-kings rule everything treating the weak like cattle, thats also leaving out TONS of others. Besides, if every fantasy was like that we'd have no contrast.

The style of anime is like that because the cartoonists are like that. check out some American made ones in western style if you like, or if you want proof anime is not exclusively childish, check out Code Geass, trust me, you may be singing a diffrent tune then.

Anime is great, do not misunderstand me (in my top 5 actually) but its too colorful for someone who does not like anime to watch.
Dude should watch Berserk (or even better, READ its manga version). The whole anime is like made by a Warhammer fan :O

@ThrashOrc81 What's wrong with asian cartoons? Anime is a concept more than a style, the anti animation ghetto, animation for adults without Disney's stinking claws in it. There is alot of cool things you can do with animation after all.

@AnnatarYoung You haven't looked at Warhammer Fantasy in comparison to other fantasies have you? High fantasy (which determines the depth of the background setting) can BE dark fantasy (which determines the outlook of the world, bleak or optimistic). Besides, being a soldier intended only to awe the opponet, no matter how garishly dressed (in fact, more often moreso...) is a pretty bum job.

@IceC0ldFreezer To elaborate: there are TWO warhammer setting licensed by Games workshop.
The one probably thinking of (and the better known) is warhammer 40,000 (or 40K as fans call it): Sort of traditional fantasy meets space opera meets horror meets gallows humour.
But 40K has an elder sister, warhammer fantasy which is a more tradition, medieval fantasy setting. It this latter setting this game is based on.

just a general comment, the one thing that i dislike, not the game itself but following the rules of elves.
rule one: female characters/units must where the minimum amount of clothing allowed to make it suitable to play.
rule two: repeat rule one with replacing clothes with vines.
rule three: female charcters with clothes must be mounted on a tigre or varies other animal, this is because of animal rights
i have nothing against this game, but i get annoyed at how elves are portrayed.

those are dark elf witches. Other than that, most Elves in Warhammer are dudes that swing around giant swords. The HIgh Elves premier unit are lumberjacks that wrestle lions

Today is all Flashy lights and effect and blood for the blood god, i mean for the public to be amused. Sometimes they sacrifice even the story for the graphics.... a real shame.

i have warhammer: mark of chaos... by far outranks all the other RTS games that have good graphics... it has an amazing story, pretty good graphics, and the gameplay is fantastic, i've played the campaign of it over 50 times, both good and bad sides, and i'm still not bored of it, it is by far one of the best RTS games there are

its an OK game.
but the combat of the troops fighting isnt really my style, to slow and calm.
when it comes to actually good looking and intense combat i preffer kingdom underfire heroes (lol old game).
this does have more tactical value though which is nice.

@Learil Graphics plays an extraordinary role in attracting players to even try the game. Its just like food. A restaurant was recommended by your friend who says it tastes great, but if you went there and saw how dirty the environment is, would you try it?
Nevertheless, graphics and gameplay must intertwine with each other else the game fails....

@Learil Completely agree. Gameplay and story should always come first. Graphics should be worked on after these two are perfected. But nobody really cares about that anymore I guess.
