@Dj3xilM4n I will bring the stick back out and do some closeup video of it and show how it is made. I do not know if that will count as an actual tutorial, but I will try my best to show its details.
@albinowolf2 Thank you so muuch!! Me and a friend really want to make an bass like this, or with a bottle.. but we don't know how to do. Thank you ! :)
i might do one soon. the basic principle is a 27" scale on a 32" piece of 2x2" lumber. String is an .080 weedwacker line. Pickup is a piezo crystal element.
The bridge i was using at the time of this video was a piece of natuve SC bamboo. I like the sound of it, too. I use it for noters for my dulcimers, also.
Thanks DLoganFoster. I am going to give you the soul stick on the other video as a gift. The "guitar" model. This in the video here is of course, the bass model. I will bring it with me the next time we get together to jam!
For a pickup, I am using a small piezo disc, available from allelectronics placed under the bridge. Each instrument only uses one. I order in bulk because I build these soul sticks as well as many other slide guitars and mountain dulcimers for sale. If you only need one piezo pickup, you can get one from radio shack, and remove it from its black plastic cover.
maybe a tutorial?

what's the riff @ 0:23? It may be a standard blues riff but I've heard it so much and want to know what it is! GREAT playing btw :)

@LRMMcDonnell it is a kind of modified TX riff, like Stevie Ray would groove over.
One love!

Fantastic sound. What's the bridge made from? It is giving an excellent "punch".
