We live around Harrisburg so it was about an hour to drive there.
Take some good lights because once you are in the center you can't see out either end. They were talking about putting in minimal lighting, but I hope they leave it the way it is. On a day like today you can stand outside the entrance and feel the cold air rushing out and even fog too...very cool!!
I don't get it? The outside of the tunnel and the road look way different than the way it does in the movie. Did they use computer effects to make it look different or did they remove all the tress and brush? Also in the movie you don't see that thing that's on top of the tunnel. What gives? I like the way it looks in the movie way better than real life.
Remember that we were there in August and this was filmed during winter, so it did look a bit different. As far as computer effects go, you are right. Trees and greenery were digitally removed. You can go to "The Road" movie wikipedia and it has some pictures of the tunnel, and tells more about how they edited the scenes
At the beginning of the video I mention a pair of camo shorts. I noticed them sitting on the ledge as I pedaled past. That is where the next comment about shitting pants came from. Someone must have shit their pants.
