Is there anyone doing what Martin does, but better? I'm quite into fingerstyle, and I have yet to find anyone who who comes close. Any suggestions would be very interesting. Nice story, by the way, v funny.
Nobody is better than Martin, but he does have a few stellar peers. You should check out Peter Finger (Germany) and Pierre Bensusan (France). Both on YouTube. These guys have supernatural talent. I have 24 of Martin's CDs, spanning his whole career, and he just keeps getting more astounding in his mad skill and mastery of interpretation. He's my number one desert island pick of all time.
This guy met the Devil at the crossroads too, but instead of sellin' his soul for mad guitar skills, he got the Devil to buy him a pint of fine Stout. Martin bought the Devil and himself a neat shot of Bushmill's. Devil then brought round a couple doses of wormwood in green shot glasses. Then they made a wager: Martin bet his guitar against the Devil's forked tail. The devil upped the ante: My forked tail and pitchfork against your thumb pick and slide. They threw down. Devil went home naked.
Check out some of ther Candyrat artists. Also a big fan of D R Auten for originality

this is why Martin is the most accomplished of the "unsung" guitar heroes... technically, there's barely a rival and sonically, there isn't one...
