What makes me crack up about these comments is when people start criticizing you for finding something scary, because they claim "That's not scary!" or something.

It's a wholly subjective matter. What scares some people does not scare others, just like what makes some people laugh makes some people cringe. Claiming nobody should be scared by something because you do not is blatantly egotistic. It's basically another form of "your opinion is wrong".

I think the reason why these games scares you is the same way HP Lovecraftian lore and other Eldritch scares (as in the idea of something ancient or so alien that it is imperceptibly powerful/strange/demonic/evil)­.

You're right. Fighting humanoid monsters should be scary in real life, but maybe not as terrifying as having your very dreams fight you or your entire reality warp around you. THAT is something a human can not fight. Or at the least, it'd be a psychological challenge to.

i don't have kenophobia or any of the fears/phobias that you have, and i've never played lsd myself, but watching gameplays makes me freak out and jump all the time, even if it dosen't have any commentary. i don't think you have to play the game to get freaked out, but that's just my oppinion. i guess thats because i kinda get scared by the same things you do, except the shark game.

I still find it weird that you find Exmortis scary. It's full of walls and has realistic graphics (arguably). and yet you didn't find Amnesia scary even though it has many similar elements? Hmm...it really is funny how people have different triggers. To date amnesia is the only horror game that's ever come close to truly scaring me. Though as a child, Zelda: Majora's Mask came very close.

I know what you mean man. It's the fact that your not sure what is gonna happen. Also the sights and sounds seem to stimulate your mind into thinking that there is something horrific in the vastness. I don't scare easy with games like this but I do get on the edge of my seat when I play Silent Hill. I also love Resident Evil and Dead Space 1 and 2 but they don't seem to scare me like SH does. A game vast like this mixed with SH's monsters would be some scary shit.

@azuritereaction zombies are scary to most people for exactly the same reason you find this game scary - the unknown. Why are the corpses, who are supposed to be dead, walking again? It's abnormality that scares people, and this game is very abnormal. It's also a reason why many people are homophobic or xenophobic. People naturally fear what they feel is abnormal or 'strange' to them. (though some embrace it)

If you want to know why he screamed when the walls fell, LSD is a game where the random events slowly make him more afraid of the game.

He mostly screamed because he has a phobia of small spaces getting very large. (The opposite of claustrophobia.)
