just for reference..coconut oil DOES benefit more than olive oil. coconut oil can penetrate the cuticle, while olive oil can't. coconut oil actually helps the hair, olive oil is ultimately just a coating :P

I actually think that short layers give more volume if they're REALLY short. (not like an inch short.. but a lot shorter than yours) My hair is naturally wavy, and if it was even NEAR the length of your top layers, it'd weigh my waves down and make it look awful D:
