  • Im a liberal oh yeah...going to a cancer walk...breast not colon oh yeah...going to get those photo ops....join a unathletic kickline with my xxxl pink shirt....they stopped traffic for oh yeah... going to tell all my friends so they will know...wear the shirt all year long in my rotation oh yeah...tell them all i gave 500 but i really gave 60...make damn sure i write it off

  • Anderson Cooper, the liberal "everyman". Member of vanderbilts, argueably the richest us family in history, mom was drug addicted and married several times, brother jumped out a 14 story building, closet homo, went to a snooty liberal school and was on tv shows as a kid. Why would cnn put this flighty wiseass wimpy trustfunder on and expect the public to relate to him as an "average guy" Theyre delusional

  • media matters are rats and cowards. their painstakenly edited packages are misleading. the producers are such self hating liberal hippie scum that they dont disclose their names. they wont even voiceover the videos with one of their wussy self satisfied snobby voices.

  • @mfyt4mp Their authors names are all over their website articles, and you can find most of them on Facebook, you fucking moron. Do some research and figure out this information instead of making assumptions, hateful comments and name calling. You call other people hateful while being hateful yourself... irony on top of irony, just like every close minded jackass. Get a brain, dumbass.

  • he gets more better as bret baier keeps beating him down

  • Matthews is a criminal idiot. He is like a neocon, 'OOOH!!! Well, looking at polls is a good tactic to end the war! Why are you looking at polls!?'

  • you spend more than the top15 countries in the world combined on military. i think that says pretty much about your priorities...

  • @Darusdei Yeah, maybe we should just Nuke the rest of the World and we would be far better off for it!!!

You need us on that wall, you want us on that wall "Few Good Men"

  • @roger6060 yeah those precious few, how modest :D

  • @Darusdei The fewer the better!!!

  • Matthews: Spend first, ask questions later. Pelosi: We have to pass it so you can see whats in it. Lib anarchists are not fit to lead.

  • Angry Chris, making the lib point again, though he doesn't realize it. His point of view is exactly why the Republicans just won the house back, just 24 months into Obamas reign.

  • @alveyjohn

Actually, Chris is right...but you are right as well. There are too many hurdles in this country for a national health care plan. Its amazing how certain people don't care how much we spend on war, but don't try and help your own people. That's somehow anti-American.

  • @bigman9099 so..just because there are too many hurdles we shouldn't get it done?...chris was absolutely right..no one at anytime took a poll on the cost of these wars we fought but all of a sudden we want to be fiscally responsible on health care....it's hypocritical to say the least...with the money we spent in Iraq, we could have covered everyone in America twice over....the point he was clearly making was to not just kick it down the road just because someone says it's too hard...

  • @bigman9099 also...47 million people not covered..it's a shame...the repbublicans said the same thing about medicare and medicaid and social security...they are still around today and thriving...they said those programs would be bankrupt in 10 years....here we are over 50 years strong and going on all programs...that's why i will never be a republican because they have no sense of obligation to those who they serve..but quick to start a war in a heartbeat off of faulty intelligence

  • This is one of the few times I agree with Chris. Who cares about the cost of health reform unless one is willing to ask the cost of the wars and military

  • The fat, drunken Irishman is back on the sauce.

  • Lower choice in doctors? That doesn't show a problem with the healthcare reform being polled, but rather a problem of misinformation.

  • @gopalakartik Really? There are (allegedly) 30 million new people coming into the system and about one-third of all providers getting out. Do the math.

  • Matthews is a Marxist pig that is a bullhorn for those sixties hippie commies. Give me a break. If you think you will get quality health care by making the middle class pay for it we might as well raise a nice big red flag with gold stars and destroy all of the statues of our founders.

  • mathews is an idiot, bush did it, so obama should be able to do it, did he forget most people dont like bush

  • November 2010 is coming. Health Care destroyed this Administration plain and simple. The American People said NO through out this Health Care Process on November 2 the people will say NO more again.

  • LOL...chris uses word pussy while talking to a woman. that is a wimpy guy trying to be a tough guy....weak and epic fail for sure! LOL

  • So Chris Matthews style is to put words in your mouth and then ask you to deny it. Wow you just can't argue with an idiot like Matthews. Sorry Chris, but the war has no place in an argument about healthcare

  • Throw money at it and it will fix it !

  • Chris Matthew wants the US to adopt Socialism, straight up with no compromise.

  • @imre1000 AMEN. You nailed it !

  • Chris Matthews Rocks..!

  • Matthews treats his guests as if he were a candidate for office engaged in a political debate with an opponent, arguing, talking over them and constantly interrupting them. He's rude, nasty, arrogant and gets worse every day. Why MSNBC hasn't dumped him indicates they must be pretty desperate.

  • @dyad2r1 --keeping Joe in the morning is dangerous to their network....He is sooo immature. He is rude, nasty, arrogant & gets worse everyday, He alway's cut's off Mika, etc and losses his mind if someone calls him out

  • yea thats crazy to actually consider the cost of medical care..if the only rationale to this is...well republicans did it with wars...theres something truly wrong and revealing about the value system that would lead a person to that conclusion

  • did Chris say "pussy"?

  • Hey for the people that didn't want the health care bill to pass...suck a fat one.

  • When people run away from yes or no questions, that means they're wrong and they know it, and they're trying to save face.

  • Chris Matthews is a douch bag. Where the fuck is the money going to come from?! The U.S.A is trillions into debt, and now they want to take money from people and spread it around the country. Didn't the Soviet union colapse because they were fighting a war in afghanastan, and socialist? If only we learned from our history. Liberals solution to everything is throw money at it.

  • @RageAgainstNWO Everything about your statement is contradictory. It would be better to take taxpayer dollars and spend them on programs that actually help, you know, taxpayers rather than take taxpayer dollars and spend them on the occupation of afghanistan and iraq. the annual cost of defense spending and both wars is close to a trillion dollars and the only people from this country that actually see that money are the defense contractors and the iraqi and afghani governments, not our citizens

  • @RageAgainstNWO Why didn't a single conservative ask where the money was coming from when bush was handing out tax breaks to the wealthy, doling out oil subsidies, deregulating and cutting taxes on financial institutions while still spending trillions of dollars between the wars, medicare and social security. instead of responsibly offsetting his spending with tax increases he cut funding for education with unfunded mandates, cut funding for renewable energy and most infrastructure programs

  • @ericpwilcox---I totally agree

  • @RageAgainstNWO that would've actually created millions of jobs

  • chris solf ball mattiews is a rich white kid who was a dc cop ! fuck this nazi pig

  • Good thing joe had his side kick one and half heads is better than one! Take your pick!??

  • "Well SOMMETHING has to get done" Haha, Mika's so cute.

  • Matthews sucks period.

  • This Morning Joe show sucks. Chris Matthews is the man.

  • @jons44 what ! you must be a dull asshole !

  • Wow! Constructive rebuttal! Jumped right to the personal attack. Lovely.

  • i love the word pussy too

  • chris rules ...mika's father woud be ashamed to hear her to shit.....Joe needs to wear a bow tie

  • Joe and that bitch right next to him is nothing more than a guard dog and Joe is a pussy bleeding bitch.

  • as for a debate, talking over people wont get it done. But its important to understand what chris matthews main point it. If you want health care for all, you dont find reasons not to do it, you find ways TO DO IT.

Look at medicare, now that it is common and everyone likes it, even the republicans look at it like "how do we save medicare" not how do we cut it.

So for health care insurance, same thing has to apply, get it done, so we all look at it like "how do we keep it, not how do we cut it"

  • "Stirred hot by Starbucks!" Everyone in this conversation is owned.

  • Chris Mathew fail.

This guy is just looping around in circles, just by watching this its... its just bad really bad. some one should just ducktape this guy's mouth so he can listen to what they were saying to him.

  • Mathews Owned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Chris Matthews has admitted that he wants socialism for America. I guess we are all too stupid to decide what's best for us personally. The government must come in and intrude further in our lives. You need government run health-care don't you? No, I don't, now get the hell out of my privacy and my life.

  • Joe and Chris are both wrong. The first thing that needs to happen is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. The biggest killers are: obesity, alcohol, and tobacco. Don't force me to subsidize people's destructive habits.

When that is settled, then we can have a serious and adult conversation to finding health care solutions.

  • I want Mika in my bed.

  • sounds like both sides are for socialism. two wings of the same bird going the same direction

  • I love watching matthews gettting pwned up the ass. Neo-marxists can't debate when they're faced with logic.

  • Neither can christians ^-^

Just thought I would say something.... :3

  • Cuba has universial health care. Look how well of a system they have.

  • yes, it's better than ours in fact! And they're a third world country almost!

  • If cuba's medical system is better than ours, than why do their top government officals fly here for operations?? Why won't they let a cuban doctor come within a mile of them?

Go to cuba to get some brain surgery, and get back to me to let me know how much better cuban medical treatment is.

  • So we should emulate a thrid world country? Just because barack hussein obama would say so?

  • Not just third world countries, but practically every other 1st world country has UHC. Granted that for the ultra-rich, America's health care is bar-none. That doesn't really apply to any of us posting on the internet though. There really isn't any sound argument against UHC other than "I don't want to pay to prevent others from dying"

  • Well bud, for the record - once you get back from your cuban brain sugery, let me know how much better the medical treatment was in contrast to American medical treatment.

We have the best health care system in the world. You don't throw the baby out with the bath water. You throw out the dirty bath water. Health care reform is getting all the corruption out of our system. Such as maybe, stopping the lawsuits? And stop giving treatment to non-citizens? I think thats a start how about you? .

  • If you want universial health care, move to a universial nation. American's aren't going to throw out the best health care the world has ever seen just to please schmucks like you.

  • Statistics simply don't support the claim of the US having the best healthcare for its population. Only anecdotes about rich people support this.

Anyway, tort reform exists in Texas and it has done nothing to lower costs. On the other hand, it is virtually impossible for someone with a legitimate claim to get any compensation.

Finally, illegal immigrants aren't exactly a huge issue in our health care system.

  • Call me when you get back from cuba schmuck.

  • Chris is a dum ass.

  • Typical example of stupid Americans. Why the hell did 45% of the "leaders" vote no for the health care. People can't fucking afford it! They can't just make compromises, and then afford it! It's so absurd!

  • Matthews for the win.

  • Forget the insults, (I apologize), it's just that I worry about the govt. running diarrea, let alone healthcare. Look at Social Security. I will be lucky to get what I have paid in for the last 25 yrs, and by the time you retire, I can almost guarantee you that it won't be there. I pay $1,100/mo for healthcare, (Fam 4), and I still do not want it run by govt. It will be a taxation nightmare, 1 more reward for entering this country illegally, and another nail in the coffin for business owners.

  • CM asks the right question..Do they want to do it or not? They don't, and everything else they say is bullcrap. They only pretend to support it so they can appear reasonable. They aren't reasonable they are paid whores for the HMOs.They have no soul, they have no religion. They are evil.

  • yes, "you moron"...thats a constructive comment...even mika, who is a liberal thinks chris is being rediculous, by all means lets pass a bill without the media asking questions....as if thats the media's job or something...

  • chris is killing em'

  • Ah Chris Matthews...yet another member of the media who cares nothing about the media's obligations to ask questions and challenge people in power, republican or democrat, liberal or conservative...instead matthews is more worried about getting his agenda across...and yet this idiot wonders why ppl dont trust the media anymore?? its cause there is no truly honest media left in the US...you have fox on the right wing and cnn and msnbc on the left...no one is doing their true job

  • you moron.

  • Chris Mathews = 1 Track mind libtard

  • wow, great show of intelligence there... using a word like "libtard" always takes the cake.

  • @GstateBALLER925 So at 23, you probably have a whole bunch of experience on how the govt., and the world works. Were you old enough to vote, way back in 04? Do you own a house, make real money, have a bunch of business experience. Keep watching Mathews and Oberman for your education, and I am sure you will grow up to be as one sided and ignorant as they are. Libtard.

  • Well,obviously Chris Mathews + the Obama administration= WE.

  • nice conspiracy theory.

  • Matthews is the one using the "we" term;

  • joe is stalling for thinking time when he asks chris to let him talk

  • this is not an intense debate. these guys areant bringing up any new arguments

  • 98 million to kim Jong to give up nuclear weapons from us you and me. 20 million to political prisoners and there rights in Castro's Cuba 6 million to promote civil society in Hugo Chaves's Venezuela. I know lets cut this off and we can pay for it

  • Chris Mathews just what it didnt happen by October, or November and it wont happen in December either you Bazooka Joe looking bastard, the bill wont pass with a publlic option so why have one period! Oh I know to create a new tax revenue, I got it now. just get it done no matter what right the check, I guess I would say that too if I were making 4 mil a year.

  • Left wing loons?

    ROFL!!

how come the right wing doesn't have any problems with spending money on war? Iraq has cost over 3 trillion and Afghanistan? who knows what that will cost, and thats just the official cost on the books not even talking about the extra trillions spent all to fight a war on terrorism ( thats pretty funny ) to defend Americans?? whats worse 2,976 people dying in the 911 attacks or the 44,000+ people that die every year because they had no health insurance? whats worse?

  • Benito Mussolini was known for making the trains run on time; he "got it done."

  • i have no respect for mia joe talks to her like a dog.

  • Joe is a douche bag. This guy needs to get over himself.

  • I agree. He's a asshole. Always talking about when he was in congress. Fuck, when he was in congress.

  • What Joe and Mika don't seem to understand is that left wing loons like Chris Mathews DON'T CARE about whether this is done right or whether health care reform is going to be cost effective, or anything like that!! All they want is for Obama and the dems to get control of all of our healthcare. Once that happens, the democrats and socialists will have total power for decades to come.

That's why Mathews just wants to "get it done.'

  • joe sure likes the word PUSSY

  • he does like it i think he left his frst wife

this conservative right wing family values

jut of the jaw patriotic male.lol

  • @nela04 it's mikas pussy they're talking about, notice how she whispered in Joe's big ass ears.

  • Chris is right...we gotta get this done. Period.

  • is Mika really on the left? She's primarily a mute and at best, a Joe puppet.

  • Chris trampled them. They looked stunned that one of "their own," took them to the wood shed. 44,000 people die every year because they have no health insurance. If that many rich white people died health care would definitely get done.

  • Chris is the man.

  • everybody was concentrated on the word pussy

  • We could easily afford a national healthcare program with all the money we dumped into Iraq over the last 7 years. Its not socialism either because we're not eliminating private insurance companies, we are simply forcing them to compete and set their prices to reasonable levels. If private schools can exist with public schools, I think health insurance corporations can as well.

  • Sorry to burst your bubbles Coley and MSM, but the majority of Americans are tired of getting pushed around by the healthcare industry. And Chris Matthews has it correct. Are we gonna bat this thing around again? or are we going to walk the walk? It's time to put private insurance to the test. They need to be competed against to help control costs. Americans need better options that give more affordable access to decent healthcare. This must be done now. This is a right, not a privilege.

  • Amen, coley. Thank goodness most of America isn't falling for this junk and agree with us. If this thing actually passes, there is no turning back. I am so glad that the American people are sticking together on this one. I thought the morons outnumbers the rest of us in November, but this gives me hope.

  • Well, the rabid-tea baggers, insurance shills, and self-centered oldies at the town-halls oppose it -- but that's no surprise they're RepubliCANTS (the party of NO) BUT when polled correctly and the public option is explained people DO support it by large majorities. Nope.. us MORONS still outnumber you!

  • Geez, Marco, thank you for taking the time to reply to my comment (even if it was directed to somebody else). I see that you have the typical lib response - which cracks me up. Even the libs have no idea what is happening here. What a bunch of morons. Listen, honey - stick with your mole-necked dyke programming (Rachel Madcow) and leave the thinking people alone.

  • LOL! And you have the typical snide insulting right-wing talking points too --

so there can really be no debate between those w/facts and those w/only feelings.

"and leave the thinking people alone" --- now that's a real LAUGHER!!

  • Matthew is RIGHT-ON; it's about VALUES!!!

Guns or butter?? Wars of choice vs. resources for human needs? Huge corporate profits or affordable health care?

  • Mathews is a jerk. He's been in Obama's pants from the begining.I don't like either of these phonies, but you just can't justify changing the whole health care system to satisfy 15 to 20 million people who are not covered.I don't want to cover illegals,I don't cover those that don't pay taxes, and I don't want pay anyone's bills who just "ride" the systems giveaway programs. These goons you see in this clip could care less about you and me because they will never have to worry about health care.

  • You can bash Mathews for whatever reasons (?) but probably faithfully watch and believe what you hear from Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, etc.. I CAN jusitfy changing this rotten greed-driven system. You sound like the average self-centered, "got-mine, screw-you" right-winger that is so prevelant in this debate. You're probably even benifiting from a federal program now, like Medicare, or get VA beneifits or know someone who does. BTW, I didn't WANT TO PAY for Bush's wars.. but I had no choice!!

  • Didn't you read what I wrote?I don't like either of these guys!! I just think you need to find a way to identify those that are not covered and deserving then exclude those that aren't. You're right, I am just an average guy that works everyday and have very little but this "got mine, screw you" phrase is not a good arguement for why we need to do anything!Bush's is gone and what is done is done.Doing health care to spite that war is not much of a reason to do it either. P.S.I voted for Obama.

  • beautiful.

  • IMO the "brewed hot by Starbucks" kinda killed any journalistic credibility joe and the woman had..

  • I would not like to be ill in this country,if your poor,

    viva NHS

  • what a fool

  • PLEASE watch my videos and download the youtube downloader to save them. This is a prime example of how corrupt the current healthcare system is.

  • preach!

  • I love Chris.

Only one on TV who can chew ass and remain a gentleman about it. He even smiles when he's doing it.

    :-)

  • Tune into MSNBC and watch "Hardball". You will see that Chris Matthews not only loves to hear his own voice, he also constantly interrupts and "talks over" the people he interviews. He is nothing more than rude and obnoxious, yet he remains one of MSNBC's shining stars .. a true commentary on MSNBC's veracity as a "news" organization. Chris, go to your local clinic and check on that "thrill going up your leg". My diagnosis is that it will be completely gone by 2010, and a distant memory by 2012.

  • And fox news isn't like msnbc in anyway? Give me a break.

  • You would NEVER see ANYONE argue IN FAVOR OF A PUBLIC OPTION like Chris Matthews does in this clip, on Fox Snooze.

Chris Matthews KICKS ASS in this clip.

  • Am not going to argue your point ...... the truth as it actually exists would be nice to hear from any media outlet. Can you honestly name one? I can't.

  • no... they're not. Yes MSNBC may lean to the left. But is it comparable to the misinformation that Fox puts out? HELL NO. You show me a misleading clip from MSNBC from the past 2 weeks and I'll give you something from FOX NEWS in 2 weeks... ha, I can give you 2 days.

  • Hmm thats funny i never heard to many repubs that didnt want a war in iraq and actually belived the oil would pay for the war, failed. Since the repubs like him didnt out right say no, they can come back and cash in on their hedge bets, typical political saying two things at once then when people forget they can take any position they want on the subject. Repubs are good with their christianmreligion to start and sell a war, but dont ask them to spend money on the poor without a bussiness gain.

  • Joe is a typical conversation twister.....

Another person that happily labels himself

as a Conservative; that has to retract his entire stance on this last decade to try and look like

his positions are cut down the middle.

He comes from the 11th commandment Republican schooling and this kind of conversation is hopefully getting shadowed out by enlightening ideas.

I feel like I'm in Jr. High when I hear the Morning Joe program...and I really don't mean to sound sarcastic by saying that.

    Les xo

  • I think America could do well in implementing healthcare.

Plenty of examples and models to emulate and avoid.

You'll do well if you stay on the debate and check the books. I wouldn't trust the democrats to do this well based on how they behave with expenditure.

  • Canada has had a balanced budget from 1997 until 2008 AND a universal healthcare...

    That says it all.

  • Canada only has a population of 32 million, while the USA is near 300 million. It cost a lot more money to cover everyone down here, especially when %65 of Americans are over weight which leads to health problems and the #1 cause of death; heart disease. Americans are too fat, stupid and lazy to accomplish what Canada has.

  • Canadians are fat too. A bit less than Americans, but not by much. I don't think this can explain the difference

    Now on population size

Healthcare represents 10% of Canada's GDP.

In the US it is 16%.

Every single American (covered or not) pays 6% more than Canadians for a system that doesn't cover everyone

Economically, there is no reason why a bigger country should pay more per capita for healthcare than a smaller one. Actually, size should provide more opportunities for economies of scale

  • I think that's a hasty generalization, sir. You are letting your bias against America misconstrue your facts, therefore committing logical fallacies.

  • Well, America has a lot more money than Canada.

  • You do realize that the United States is in 1.4 Trillion Dollars worth of debt right? Therefore that renders your comment irrelevant.

  • I honestly can't see what the arguement is here concerning the public option healthcare program. If anything, we should be discussing why Obama isn't going for a complete government system like Canada and Europe has.

As Chris Matthews said, we are way behind the rest of the western world when it comes to healthcare and it's about time we had someone in the white house who wants to give all americans another option.

  • I love how many with money just think everyone that doesn't have money are just leaches and we want everything for free. Every American out there breaking there back or that has broken there back deserves an option for either free or private health care. Fuck you Joe.

  • DICK CHENEY TRIBUTE video!!!!

  • Matthews wants the same crowd running the DMV to run American health care.

  • hehe. I live in Canada and think the nationalized healthcare system is brilliant, but I still agree with your comment and think its funny.

  • Intense debate? More like Chris Matthews asks tough questions while those two clowns dodge them.

  • well it looks like obamacare is dead.............suck it mathews =0

  • Your name is ObamaEqualsStupid.

You clearly came into this with an open mind.

  • I wonder if the WH has contacted Matthews about stepping into Robert Gibbs sweaty shoes to take over the podium when he finally bombs for good. Chris would be a wonderful substitute for Gibbs who can't substantiate a lie whereas Matthews has a gift for crawling on the floor and giving the Obama WH his all. He should be given something for his pathetic efforts. And then there is Olberman. These guys have slobbered over Obama from day one. Give them a bone. Gibbs has sadly burnt out.

  • "Like I said, health care is not a right. I'm sick and tied of the government stealing my money and giving it to other people," You should be happy that you aren't actually sick. I love that you idiots are happy letting people steal more money from you and in order to give it to the richest people, but when they "steal" LESS MONEY from you to help out your neighbor, it's OMG COMMUNISM. You are a tool of the insurance conglomerates, and nothing more.

  • Matthews is win.

  • If by win you mean who tried to prove their point in an ill, misguided manner, then Matthews is definately win.

  • wtf, "pussy foot around" ???? lack for a better word much?

  • I don't think that the republicans are any better about spending money. Both the conservatives and the liberals created this mess over decades, just to keep their bases happy so they could get re-elected. There ain't no free lunch here. If you write a check to the government or to a health care co. is not the question. Something has to give in the system it's self - address that first.

  • Although I think that something has to be done about healthcare, I do not think that are having the right debate. Cost is the key. The question is why. The US has a healthcare system that is double the cost than any other country. Where does this money go? Why did the system get so out of control? We are subsidizing too many hands in the cookie jar. The people pay by having a greedy system.

  • This the the "common sense" approach!!! Medical students have large school loans, malpractice insurance premiums are outrageous, no tort reform, and out-of-control administration costs.

Politians (especially liberals) love spending other people's money!!!! This is why we have a financial crisis with mortgages and credit cards.......spend now and pay later or file for bankruptcy!!!!

  • Don't believe the crap Fox "News" is telling you. Socialized medicine has worked EVERYWHERE! Let the market decide? It has decided - it's decided to screw you an anyone else who isn't covered by Medicare. There is no free market when it comes to health care. What choice do you have when you have a piece of re-bar sticking out of your back? None! How is that a market choice? When you're sick, go to the doctor. Can't afford it? Should that even be a legitimate question? Single payer.

  • The issue is the manner which the survey was framed. Imagine if they had said " Are you optimistic that the reform would" a. reduce costs, b. Increase quality, c. so on and so on. The results I guarantee would be the exact opposite. This is CLASSIC trick anyone with an education could spot.

  • Chris Matthews is a fucking idiot. We should have nuked those fucking sandniggers on 9/12 and saved all that money. Second, get the fucking gov't out of healthcare and let the market decide. Where has socialized medicine worked? NOWHERE. If the gov't would get their hands off of it, the price of insurance would drop to more manageable amounts....Let's see how much taxes the insurance companies and doctors pay. Basic economics dictates that taxes are passed on to the consumer.

  • Socialized medicine has worked in most countries implemented. In Europe its considered barbaric to not have access to healthcare. I know, I lived there. Also, the government plan would allow people to choose between government healthcare and private healthcare, so the market will decide in the end.

  • Defence spending is 500 billion a year, why can't we take 200 billion from defence and put into the health care reform. Everybody keeps avoiding this like we don't have money, but we have enough to pay 500 billion for defence spending. The money is their, it is just whether or not people will do the right thing. I want someone to explain to me why this won't work?

  • At first sight, it would appear that Republicans absolutely despise "welfare." But a closer inspection would reveal that the only kind of welfare they despise is that which is directed at the people at large.

And yet, not a blink, not even a brief moment of hesitation, for the welfare that is directed at the wealthy: financial institutions, corporations, IMF debt collection programs, etc.

The "corporate counter-attack" is in full swing, ladies and gentlemen (as it has been since the 1970s).

  • The dirty little secret in this health care debate is the extraordinary amount of money that is funneled to an enterprise we call "Defense." If the defense budget were reduced by even a small fraction, a public health care system would be far more attainable.

But unfortunately, the defense budget is sacrosanct. ("War is the health of the state," as the old saying goes.) Never mind that the Soviet Union is defunct; no, we must always increase our military to monumental proportions.

  • chris matthews has his head so far up obama's ass that it's just pitiful, hey matthews wipe obamas shit of your mouth

  • Chris Matthews is puppet for the Obama Administration.

  • We're not denying health care to anyone. Health care is not a right.

    Examples of rights are:

    Freedom of speech

    Freedom of religion

Freedom to keep and bear arms

    Freedom to assemble etc

Rights are not paid for by others, they are something that you exercise, not something that you take from someone else. What gives you the right to take away my labor, my property, to buy yourself health care? You do have the right to buy health care, it's just that you don't have the right to make me pay for it

  • Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. There you go, it's the first one; the right to life.

  • You're wrong. The right to life meant that you were allowed to be born.

  • Who cares if it's a right?

Our healthcare system is a system of embezzlement and waste.

We ranked second to last in waiting times. We spend far more of our GNP per capita on healthcare than other industries. We have the most privatized healthcare system in the industrialized world.

This isn't liberal charity. It's common sense. It's going to save money. Matthews is completely right in hardballing these morons, because they don't actually know or care to know the facts.

  • "We have the most privatized healthcare system in the industrialized world." Awesome, that's why we're the best.

"It's going to save money." That was my biggest laugh all day. Do you know any more good ones?

  • "Awesome, that's why we're the best."

Not really. We spend 17% of our paychecks on healthcare and have the 2nd worst waiting lists in the industrialized world. It's nice that the party that is enslaved to insurance companies is more interested in an outdated philosophy than actually learning from countries that spend less for far better care.

70% of all bankruptcies are due to healthcare. Over half those people have insurance. You're an idiot.

  • If you want to see an idiot, then just look in the mirror. There's no way that I'm going to have a government bureaucrat tell me what will, and what will not be covered, that is up to me, I will choose my own health care options. If I want better insurance, then that is what I will get. If I can't afford it, well then those are the breaks, life's not far, it never has been. It is my responsibility to take care of my own health. It is no different than my responsibility for my own housing.

  • "There's no way that I'm going to have a government bureaucrat tell me what will,"

    Poor baby.

"I will choose my own health care options"

    So will I.

"If I want better insurance, then that is what I will get."

Nobody will ever stop you from doing so.

"If I can't afford it, well then those are the breaks"

Nice to know that you don't give a shit about saving money or people dying, and you've obviously never been fucked over by a "good insurance company."

  • "Poor baby?"

You are the baby. You are the one who needs to be taken care of by your nanny state.

Private insurance (choice, freedom) will be dead after the "government option" runs private insurance out of business: there can be no other outcome. And after that, they will choose for you because it will be "their" money.

I do want to save money, which is why I'm against government run health care. I do care about people dying, and that is why I'm for some reform, but not fundamental change.

  • "Private insurance [grift, cons] will be dead after the "government option""

You've certainly eaten up insurance propaganda haven't you.

"I do want to save money "

Then you obviously haven't been doing much research. You are perfectly willing to pay $1 on claims processing for every dollar you spend on healthcare, 17% of the gross national product of your entire country and growing, for a health care system which is outdated and floundering, because you are ignorant.

  • My point was made below. It is only when the purchasing of health care returns to the consumer, that the balance will occur. When the people know what they are buying with their own money, then that is when there will be true competition. Until then, it will be a scam, whether private or government run.

Like I said, health care is not a right. I'm sick and tied of the government stealing my money and giving it to other people, they can take care of themselves, they are not my responsibility.

  • "that the balance will occur." What "balance?"

"true competition. " There already is "true competition." I worked in insurance claims. Let me give you a hint: If you get diagnosed with brain cancer tomorrow, your insurance company will not make an easy job of giving you $150,000+. Unless of course it's the best insurance possible, but then most people can't afford the premiums, and even in nations with superior health care systems such as Sweden and Japan, you can still buy it.
