How to do a basic fish tail braid

you braid it the right way but the sections you rotated to the other side were a bit large so it looks more like a normal braid than a fish braid.

I have really frizzy and wavy/curly hair, do you recommend me straightening my hair before I try this?

@katherine83095 My hair is like that and I considered straightening it first and then doing this, but I decided against it and it worked out okay. It did have some flyaways though, and after the whole day, both sides were pretty messed up, lol. To make it sleeker I would definitely straighten and use a shine serum or something and that will make it it really pretty and straight. Also make sure you plait them very tightly. :D

This is exactly how you do a fishtail braid, the only reason why hers turns out looking like a regular braid is because she pulls too big of pieces to the middle. But this is actually how you dos fishtail. Great video, very helpful.

@bloomer247 its really not. A normal braid has 3 sections and they rotate from the outsides to the middle. This may be the way you NORMALLY braid but its not really. It just looks like one cuz she took really big pieces. This look is made for tiny pieces. :)
