Andrew is probably a rich man, today... Assuming he or someone close to him recognized his talents and used them to their fullest. ...And, yes, almost every autistic child has desirable talents and abilities many normal persons do not possess.
I don't remember this Andrew kid, but what i do remember of this program was the magic mirror itself. I used to be awed by it cause at first it was solid then it had a hole in the middle. I also remember an episode that went to a dentist office tour. Does anybody remember that one? Also another one that one of the kids (Andrew???) was looking up the host skirt. That was a classic. Either way, good times good times.
i know im gonna get bashed for this.. but i think the canadian romper room was ten fold better.. and yeah is andrew the fruity child in the red pants?
This is from a WOR-TV telecast from the late 70's/early 80's. Miss MAry Ann was Mary Ann Pettiston (or something close to it.) She was replaced by Molly when the ROMPER ROOM AND FRIENDS syndication crew took over.
where the hell is that scary clown that popped out of the jack-in-the-box in the beginning of the show w/the music playing? that's what i was looking for. that scared the hell out of me and many others.
I watched this program in the 70's. I liked it, but she never said my name. At the end when she looks into the Magic Mirror and says kid's names, she never said "I see Jennifer." I used to get so mad at her.
Yeh she never said my name either. I loved the show and would wait desperately for my name - never happened. I always thought Romper Room was an Australian invention, ahh just another franchise. Thank God we didn't have a meaningless pledge.
I used to get pissed that she never said my name. I'd sit there and watch her do her "Magic Mirror" thing at the end, and she never said, "I see Jennifer." Now I'm 35 and I realize how silly it was for me to get mad at her, lol.
This is so cute! I would have been watching "Romper Room" around 1982 and I think this is the version I must have seen. Could you by any chance upload the opening theme song? I would love to see it again.
Awww, I wish my parents saved a clip of me when I was on the show. I remember pestering the host because my shoe became untied & being blinded by the studio lights.
look at the clothes!! LMAO!!! I mean can you believe some of us wore that in 1982? or our parents dressed us in that?! OMG!!! This show brings back memories. I used to get mad b/c the lady never said my name in the magic mirror ;)
In the UK, Miss Rosalyn never saw me either - but I did rumble you could hear her changing the mirror when the pattern came on - still feel cheated though.

The music from 3:50 to 4:45 sounds like the underwater ballad from Super Mario Bros.

@mikeysaur65 Actually, it is a song called "Sailing, Sailing" originally written by Irving Berlin.

So what is the importance of Andrew? Who is he? Why Andrew why not David, Karen, Mike, or Jaqueline??
Bec423 3 years ago
He's cute. Yeah. The PP who said Canadian Romper Room was better is probably right.

Does Andrew have A.D.H.D? He seems a bit pre occupied with other things???
lukegenovese 3 years ago
probably, all those kids had some issues. But we werent so quick to diagnose every child as retarded or adhd back then.
terren2000 3 years ago 3
I know what you mean! Every doctor thinks if your child doesn't speak at the age of two years they have speech problems or Autism. It's ridiculous!

I remember Romper Room. In fact, I wanted to be on Romper Room, but I was too old - I was 9.

I hope that's sarcasm. You may want to read it again. It's what our country is about even if "liberal" rich kids don't like it anymore.

I used to wait for the lady to look through the hand mirror and say, "I see...." (...and she'd mention lots of kids' names).

I watched this in the late 60s/early 70s. A girl from my kindergarden class was on it (1969)....too bad nobody saved recordings of those ones.

Nice to see them saying the Pledge. A lot of schools these days don't say it anymore.
"Is your weight evenly distributed?" Like a 5-year-old is going to know what that means!
