Awesome video and song. This is the first time I've heard this song. It has a strong message. I try so hard to teach my children that it's not about getting presents. @robynsevo Actually Decemnber 25th is the birth of Jesus, and the date of December can be calculated from scripture as John Chrysostom did in the 4th century. The 25th was noted as the day when some christians where celebrating the birth of the LORD around 200 in the writtings of St Hippolytus.The celebation was somewhat frowned upon in the early church as the celebration of births was considered pagan, nevertheless Some Christinas have allways celebrated on the 25th from the begging.

The world celebrates his birthday on Dec 25th because a Catholic Pope ordered it....so all the Roman pagans would feel at home once they joined Catholicism.

@gtepp031387 You forget that Roman Emporers liked to move the calendar around so their own birthdays would fall on some important holiday such as the start of a new year.

This also explains why the month OCTober is the 10th month of the year...when OCT means EIGHT.

Also the Catholic Church....not that I'm a fan.....has a holiday where they honor Mary's conception and when U count the months for a pregnancy. SEPTEMBER.

@dodgyhingst Yes, and Nov is 9 and Dec is 10. and Sept is 7. But they are the only months that correspond to numbers. The other months were renamed and added. Its just the way the the cards fell. You have to go through a lot of history to figure it out. Even the days of the week come from diffrent faiths/backgrounds. Saturday is after Saturn's Day, which is Roman Mythology. But Wednesday (Odin's Day) Thursday (Thor's Day) and Friday (Frigga's Day) are all from Norse Mythology.

Let us calculate that with the normal maturation process(not to say that the birth of Jesus was anything normal), which usually takes 9 months. So from March, to the first month April, the second month June,... all the way to the ninth month which would be December...looks like we got the date correct.
